I was surprised by this series. It was so much better than I'd expected because, in my experience, straight-to-YouTube programming is often indicative that a TV show sucks. So, although I expected a low budget disappointment, I found that "Day 5" is just as good as any big studio produced sci-fi series on TV. In fact, my primary criticism of this show is that it's not available on a cable channel like Syfy. It would reach so many more people if it were.

My other criticism of "Day 5" is in regard to gore. At times the gore just seems silly and gratuitous, and I find myself rolling my eyes, ready to disengage and turn my attention elsewhere. But the program still keeps me intrigued, and I want to see what happens next, so I continue to tune in.

Overall "Day 5" is entertaining and fun, and has a fresh, kinda hipster feel to it. My favorite actor from the series is Katie Folger. She's a standout from the cast. Clearly she's a talented young artist and I love her wickedly cool delivery and performance as Meredith. If a futuristic thriller is a film genre you'd enjoy, then "Day 5" is definitely worth checking out. Glad to see there'll be a Season 3.

If you're having trouble sleeping then watching this Snoozer may remedy your restlessness. Besides a total lack of ANY excitement whatsoever, what's most memorable from this series is the seemingly endless hours of useless footage of the back of Beth's head in over-the-shoulder and profile shots as she drives herself and her man Dog in an RV across the country and . . . Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

On second thought, drink some SleepyTime tea if you have insomnia. Spare yourself exposure to this mind-numbing, mediocre rot.

The City of Gainesville is a fun, progressive, artsy, and diverse Florida college town, and the TV show that hijacked its name is none of these things. Some money-grubbing New York City hacks decided to cash-in on the reality show craze, and chose Gainesville as their victim. The result of this desire borne entirely of greed is an artless, low energy, unimaginative, cash-sucking failure.

This amateurishly staged, dull reality show is not worthy of anyone's time, except perhaps for students in a beginning film class. It could potentially be used for analysis of what NOT to do in film and TV.

I even feel sorry for the cast. No doubt they were misled, along with the rest of the Gainesville community.
