1st time I have sat down & completed a full rewatch since GOT finished airing back in 19.

Took me a few months to get through all 8 seasons but wanted to share a couple of thoughts for anyone out there considering the same thing.

Simply put - 1st 7 seasons absolutely outstanding!

Stands up without a doubt, so entertaining, so gripping & enthralling heading back to Westeros something that as much as I enjoy House of Dragons, so far it just hasn't risen anywhere near the heights of GOT did from the very first episode. The characters were spot on, the interactions, the writing, just soo good.

The 1st 3 episodes of S8 I would class the same. The Winterfell episode is one of the all time greats of tv battle episodes. From there on while I still have deep reservations about some of the creative decisions that were made & the direction the creators chose to take, watching it again (1st time I have rewatched S8 ever), it works. Did they stick the landing? 6 years on in my humble opinion it wasn't perfect, but I do believe they landed the bird.

Def recommend a rewatch. Without doubt I can still safely say my all-time favorite...still.

Love the books, love the movies, was super excited about the show.

Held off for a few weeks as I didn't want to wait a week for every new episode but finally relented in the last couple of weeks.

Just finished watching the final episode of S1 and man that was something that certainly delivered!

I will be the first to admit it took me 2-3 episodes to sink into the story properly & really start to enjoy it but from there I loved the remaining 5 episodes and am just blown away by how much criticism this has attracted & how low the imdb rating is. Deserves much greater praise than what it has recieved.

Sets it up perfectly for the 2nd season!
