I ended up watching this because I enjoy a couple of the actors. And, in this movie, act they did. Watching it at home let me split it into two or three pieces over the course of several days. It's a movie that doesn't require a whole lot of thinking and I found myself just needing to be in the mood for a distraction. It was fun to suspend belief and not try to make complete sense out of it. Ultimately, it felt like a mashup between Blue Velvet and Grease Two. Not that that's a bad thing. Well...

This popped up as a recommendation and I'm glad it did. This is one of those movies that will also stand up to a second viewing. Rugby may be the sport but the story feels pretty universal. Crushes and friendship and compatibility and longevity and the speed of life. While the story could be universal, the movie has enough sweetness and surprises to keep your attention. Will most definitely invest in at least one more viewing.

If you find yourself watching this movie then you already know what you're going to get. The fun is in the buildup and the teasing and then the delivery of what you knew was going to happen. While this movie doesn't reinvent the genre, it is good fun. It has a playful, tongue-in-cheek delivery at times. The end result is that you may find yourself laughing at the most inappropriate times. A welcome escape from reality.
