This is some of the worst acting I've seen in a while. It was like watching a very bad quality middle school play. I don't think you're supposed to hate the main characters within 10 minutes of the movie starting, but somehow I did. I couldn't just sit down and watch it - I used it as background noise while working on the computer. Even then, it was distracting because of how bad it was. I was determined to finish it. The supporting actors were better than the main actors. The whole movie just felt like it was thrown together. Probably the worst movie I've seen put out in a long time. Don't waste your time.

This movie was an absolute waste of time and 2 hours. It will win a ton of awards, as the most boring movies typically do. I had to continually wake my husband throughout the movie since it was his idea to see it. I didn't have high hopes for the movie after the preview. It looked like an artsy fartsy film that we usually hate. I was right. There was no connection to the characters. There was no explanation of the civil war. No background on the characters, really. The soundtrack was completely distracting from the movie. The statement the writers were making is lost on me. If you saw the preview, you saw the movie.

This had the makings of a great movie. I think the 9s and 10s previously given as ratings are from all of the overweight women. I say that as the size 16 woman that this movie is geared towards. While I do think the fashion industry caters to the Size 0s of the world and I love the idea of pushing the industry to actually change, I do not think it is any healthier to push obesity, which is what Size 16 is, in the name of "body positivity". Again, this comes from a woman who knows her Size 16 needs to be more like a Size 6. I love the leads from Grey's and Code Black and was excited to see them together. I didn't see the chemistry everyone talked about even though they are both great actors. The writers made it VERY difficult to like Ella. She was so rude and condescending to the guy she supposedly liked that I couldn't figure out why he'd ever want to be with her anyways. I had higher hopes given the actors, but this was a miss.
