It's a familiar plot line that's been done and will continue to be done, BUT this has a completely new genre, that I've come across anyway and as such is quite compelling with a clever script and narrative, almost entirely delivered by Grant.

Grant is pretty damn good, still elements of his chick flick style, but it works incredibly well in heretic.

The film starts superbly and rapidly gains a macabre, clever storyline. Unfortunately it is becomes drawn out and there is a tendency to drift during the central flow, having to try hard to retain concentration. However it picks up again. Yes there are elements towards the end of 'as if' and 'no way.'

But all in all it goes the pace and if you stick with you'll enjoy. It will never be one of the great horrors, but kills a few hours and worth the watch for Grants role alone.

Halfway into episode 1, just can't stand this voiceover guy any longer, however good or bad the doc may be, no way could I persevere with voiceover guy! Arghhhhhh!!
