Didn't see this back in the day; wish I hadn't seen it now! Seriously, one of the WORST movies I've ever seen. It's so lacking in plot & good acting, I couldn't believe it. I've heard of this thing for years, & while I didn't expect anything "Oscar worthy", I did think it would be funny. After all, it does have Chevy Chase & Bill Murray in it, but even they - no I don't think ANYONE could have saved this horrible excuse for a movie. And my husband agrees with me! It's kind of like when one of those SNL skits goes wrong. You know, you're sitting there, waiting for it to get better... and waiting... and waiting. And it doesn't.
So save yourself!! Watch something else!!!

I'm just starting episode 10. I will admit that this series has a slower pace than many of the other Korean dramas I've watched. However, there is quite a bit going on, back-stories with not just the main two (or three if you count (Holo) characters, but the secondary characters as well. It's well done, well cast, and the background music is better than in some others. I've noticed that with others, the music can be very silly, meant mainly for teenagers, but the Soundtrack on this one feels more developed. Not just simple pop songs that feel like they were written in Five minutes. Anyway, I still have the last three episodes to go, so I will try to come back and edit this later. But if you're just starting out with it, I say, give it time, there's plenty more plot to come!
OMG... Where to begin?
I've enjoyed many Woody Allen films, but this is simply AWFUL! I've been meaning to watch it for some time now; and rather wish I'd left it on the shelf.
For one thing, what good is an All-Star cast in a musical when none of them can sing a note? And yes, that includes Ms. Roberts. I mean, they could've taken a note from the 50s and dubbed her!
Or all of them, for that matter. But surely they could've found some decent actors who can also sing. *I have to amend that; Goldie Hawn CAN actually sing! She was surprisingly good, & why she only got one song is a mystery to me. Her song & dance is the ONLY REDEEMING SCENE of the entire movie! Mind you, it's very close to the end- about 90 minutes in. My advice is, if you can stream this horrific thing, especially for free, just fast-forward in to an hour and a half (or an hour and 35 minutes in), & watch the scene where Goldie Is in a black dress and dances with Woody; It's the only good thing in the movie. And no, he doesn't dance so much as provides support for Goldie.
Bear in mind though, not even better actors or good singing throughout could've saved this miserable excuse for a movie. The plot is paper thin, & there is SO much dialogue; I was tired of it after five minutes! And the musical numbers are tremendously awkward and out of place. There's even a musical number with "ghosts" which made me cringe, it was so bad!
But the clincher... The moment that really made me want to hurl was... Julia Roberts, KISSING Woody Allen. I mean... WHAT THE HELL!
And what was she thinking, Julia, wanting to be in this piece of drivel? She must've had no other offers at the time, or maybe he was just willing to pay TONS in order to sign her (probably because he was dreaming about kissing her). BLECH!
Take it from me, don't waste your time with this horrific thing. If you really want to see a GOOD musical, watch or rewatch "Singing in the rain", or "Oklahoma", or "An American in Paris", or the original "West side story" (where they had the good sense to dub Natalie Wood's singing voice)!
In any case, RUN, don't walk, away from this,
