I just watched this documentary, and I would like to say that I totally blown away by it.
It reveals some hidden faces of the AI industry, that are a disturbing: the massive exploitation of people of the Global South to moderate or select datas that are very disturbing (hence why nobody in Western countries want to work on them), leading them to depression, or suicidal behaviors, all that to earn ten dollars a week... But this documentary scores even stronger when you understand that the AI industry is just revealing what almost all big industries do to human kind for centuries, and more, when you finally understand (thanks to Emile Torres) that it borough a narrative that is very close to religions, inducing that AI, or transhumanism, want you to see them as "messianism", meaning that we are supposed to defend them, and anyone who gets in their ways is "evil" and could legitimately be put down...

This is probably one of the most mysterious movies I have ever seen. Not only regarding the plot, but also the meaning of the movie.
One thing that is interesting, is that you can imagine whatever you want about the plot, it won't affect the sense of the film, it's meaning. And this is really important. One thing that could help you though, in order to understand the movie, is to remember that Peter Weir is also the director of Dead Poets Society.
There is a strong connexion between those two movies. I don't want to explain Picnic at Hanging Rock, so I won't go further about this point. But Picnic is not only a thriller, it has a more deep subtext. And that's why it's a great movie, and not only a good entertainment.
If you haven't watched it yet, let me give you also the other reasons why I still consider it as my favorite movie for such a long time : the cinematography, the pictures, the costumes, and the soundtrack are amazing.
Don't watch the mini-series, but watch this movie instead, as is it one of its kind, and because Picnic at Hanging Rock is a masterpiece.
