Star Wars fans. This show was awesome. It had a good premise. It finally brought back bad a$$ light saber fights and it challenged the mythos of the Jedi and the Sith. Just because it doesn't fit with what happened in the books doesn't mean the story can't be retold. I refuse to believe that we live in this limited existence. I am supremely confident with 100% certainty that if George Lucas came back to make more Star Wars, Star Wars "fans" would be the first to hate it. Sometimes I feel that these reviews are from trolls who don't ever watch Star Wars. Know nothing about Star Wars and just want to see something that millions of people love, destroyed forever. I will always love Star Wars and if you don't, go watch something you do love . But for the life of me, I can't imagine what that would be.
In 2004, a film called Jersey Girl came and went without so much as a whimper. The issue was the drama surrounding the movie was bigger than the movie itself. Director Kevin Smith even said the film was an after thought. Don't Worry Darling suffers the same fate as Jersey Girl with the BTS drama becoming the focal point of the entire project. Much like Jersey Girl, DWD has a killer cast of A listers and an Indie darling director making the turn to mainstream. And both of these films could have risen above all of the gossip and lies and BS, if the creators had delivered a quality product. DWD is a lot of things, unfortunately "quality" is not one of them. Star Florence Pugh shines and dazzles in this movie and the cinematography is jaw dropping but the lame premise of the project and the dud of a third act is not enough to make this film anything more than dead on arrival. Maybe this will be a wake up call for Miss Wilde. ;-)
I am so tired of fake Star Wars fans who are so toxic and who are review bombing this show because of their racism and insecurities. They all give Star Wars fans a bad name and I wish they would all go away. None of them, I bet were even alive for any of the original trilogy. And as far as I'm concerned, if you were not born at least before by '83, you will never be a OG Star Wars fan. So just give it up. This episode was truly spectacular. It showed what OG fans have been wanting to see for over 40 years...the true power of the dark side. I loved every frame of film in this episode.
