First of all I watched this movie without even looking the imdb score or the reviews and I really liked it. I've watched it without expectation and was genuinely taken in by it. It gave Cloverfield a reason and also gave a good explanation to what is happening. It's not exact science but it has a decent logic to it. The acting is really good, I wasn't expecting it. Also Chris O'Dowd was not a comic relief figure but a sarcastic character. That man can act, I loved him in Get Shorty. All in all I can't understand all these bad reviews because this is a good movie to watch. Give it a chance. And the most important part, don't trust every review because people a bias to their own opinion, taste and interest. What they like doesn't necessarily mean you will too and vice versa.

OK, first thing first. I picked this series for the "comedy" tag expecting to make me laugh in a "4 rooms" way and I've watched only the first episode so far so this is a review of that episode. With that out of the way here it goes. This was most definitely not a comedy. If it was then I have a very different concept of comedy. The episode was a tense thriller that kept me in suspense till the very end. Do not expect a punch line or a funny giggly sensation. I came for the comedy but the thriller hoked me for the long run.

Judging by the first episode alone this show deserves more than a 6 rating. If you are a fan of post apocalyptic survival genre than this is a good show to watch. Encompassing rational, supernatural, military and dramatic aspects it really kept my attention span the whole episode. I can't really tell in what direction is this show going to go but that's a good thing because then it would've felt rushed to get to the plot in the first episode. The acting is surprisingly good, the effects are realistic, its more down to earth with practical effects (or so it seems). The drama is there, the suspense is there, can't wait to see what this show brings next.
