I saw this movie in Hungarian and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main draw is the list of extremely popular Hungarian actors and actresses of a "certain age" whose fictional selves retire in an assisted living facility reserved for actors. The jealousy and petty disagreements between the characters are portrayed with dry humor. The script was creative, the murder mystery contained many unexpected twists, and the acting was superb. I highly recommend this movie for Hungarian theater geeks, and fans of Hungarian cinema between the 1960s to the 1990s. Andras Kern is a national treasure, and the rest of the cast was great, too.

I am aware of the history of Ukraine so I was afraid to watch this film because I thought it would be too graphic and upsetting. But I did not regret it seeing it. The director - without brushing over the the people's suffering - put the emphasis on the average person's personal choices, both in the east and west. The lessons are just as important now as they were then. Highly recommended.
