I'm not a writer nor am I a movie critic, but I do watch helluva a lot more movies, so I'm just going to share how this movie made me feel.
I've never kayaked before, and without having any actual kayaking experience, I would've been a seasoned pro next to the skill set the women in this movie were portrayed as having! I was shocked at how utterly incompetent the characters in this film were made out to be. I found myself yelling things like drop the damned bloody fish, and wtf, turn kayak back over throughout the entire movie! The sheer lack of common sense and any realistic response to the danger of being hunted by a great white shark killed this film for me (no pun intended)! If the women in this film were actual people, they'd have no business being in a kayak, let alone kayaking long stretches of open ocean. Yes, this is just a movie-a movie on how to broadcast loudly to all the sharks in a given area, hey come eat us, we're all an easy meal! Geez!

American Carnage was a good watch, especially if you like movies using political satire, like Hunt, etc. For those among us who believe equality should be everyone's right, and don't agree with the backwards direction the christofascist minority is trying to take the U. S. today, this film is a bitter pill in that respect. As a whole the film was well acted, the practical effects were excellent, and the story, it wasn't unique, but worked well. I enjoyed American Carnage.
I'm no movie critic, so I'm not going to even attempt to dissect this film. I can only say as a 58 yr/o today and as someone who saw and enjoyed seeing the first/original Ghostbusters movie in the theater back in 1984, Afterlife was better than I had anticipated. I didn't care for Ghostbusters II (1989), and I didn't see Ghostbusters (2016), but Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) in my opinion is a good "family movie" addition to the franchise. For someone who may not have seen the first Ghostbusters movie/s, the story might feel a bit lacking, but for myself, having seen the first two Ghostbusters movies, there weren't any gaps that left me feeling cheated-it held true as a continuation sequel. Also, I was actually glad Afterlife wasn't quite as goofy as it's predecessors, and I enjoyed all the young actors, they were all talented and excellent in their respective rolls. Lastly, Afterlife felt shorter than the 2h 4m run time.
