This movie doesn't really stand out. The acting is mediocre, the fight scenes are definitely in the grittier side, and the plot is pretty much linear. Heck, even the samurai are more like ninja.

This is not the sort of movie you watch because you're looking for something good, and the few reasons to watch it don't really make up for it.

However, it's not a bad movie if you're looking for something to waste time with.

There's really not much to recommend this movie: The special effects are bad, the nudity (what little there is) is gratuitous, and even the action is boring. The "sewer worms" are little more than sock puppets, for heaven's sake.

The sole reason to watch this movie is if you're a connoisseur of bad movies; if you are, then this is a gold mine. In that regard, this is a particular awesome movie. Otherwise, RUN.

I have rarely watched a movie with celestial beings and been so bored. The fight scenes are poorly choreographed, the acting is so wooden that the cast was in danger from termites, and the plot was pretty threadbare. The protagonists faced no real challenges; they simply set goals and then did them with no real setbacks.

And I'm using "protagonists" with reason: There are no heroes in this movie. There is no one to really get behind and the protagonists are just as bad as the antagonists.

I will give them credit for using the descendants' mind control powers in battle, but that's a rare silver light in this movie. Even Danny Trejo is wasted, as he's obviously phoning it in.

This movie should be avoided at all costs.
