What a bore fest!

Is this really the same David Mamet, the one who gaves us House of Games who wrote and directed this terrible script?

He lost it completely.

Non stop speaking ogwash to hide a non existant intrigue is not the way to go.

The film is painfull to watch from the first minutes (the first scene is 20mn long of non stop fast speaking with very bad directing and pace) I was hoping it would get better later but it doesn't.

The two next scenes are the same type.

After 1 hour who felt like 3, I decided to fast forward (an I'm the patient type).

Nothing special at the end.

This is just a very basic story excessively badly told.

Avoid!!!

I saw A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1985 on VHS and I loved it. Very much.

I saw it many times during the eighties, and then one day I forgot about it.

When the film arrived on DVD I watched it again: was it the same film I used to love on VHS?

I didn't feel the same.

It's strange because many films of this period are standing the test of time. But not this one.

To be sure, I watched it again on HD yesterday.

The concept is still cool, there are still some iconic moments and effects, there is the cool music too, but the film is not frightening, Freddy is more like a clown than a real monster, and most actors are bad.

This film is just not effective anymore.

No idea why it loses its impact with time.

I give it a 6 because it was a major movie at the time, but if I were watching it today for the first time I would have give him a 4 (and it was a solid 10 for me in 1985; how strange is that?).

I wasn't expecting anything special from Dirty Angels, but I thought I may have a look as Martin Campbell did some descent movies before.

Dirty Angels isn't one of them. It is a terrible movie.

Nothing is working in this film.

Script is bad, dialogues are bad, actors are bad (especialy Eva Green who keeps the same angry face all the time), there is no chemistry between members of the team so we don't care about them.

So of course, the action is uninteresting and badly shot, and the CGI, oh the CGI... Come on, we are in 2024, any student with a PC is able to do this kind of stuff now.

Boring and vain movie.
