I saw this movie this past weekend, when it FINALLY made it to a local theater. The fact that I found a lot of kinship with Julia Louis Dreyfus' character helped push it up a notch or two. Like her character, I'm a divorcée, and my only child, a boy, went off to college this past August. Fortunately, I'm not as needy, and would never think of inviting one of his (younger) friends to live with me after he went off to school. :-) All in all, very realistic dialog (it's not easy dating in your 40s/50s), and I think this captured an empty-nester's mindset very well. Great acting by all, but James Galdofini's performance as Albert was charming and bittersweet.

Just got back from seeing this with my 14 year old son. We both thoroughly enjoyed this movie which was a whole lot o' fun! Scares me a little that I didn't find it all that gory, from the opening scene on. :-) All but six of us left the theater before the credits finished rolling, so we got a treat at the very end.
Lots of good lines doled out by Harrelson and Eisenberg, who played off each other very convincingly.
I'll probably rent it when it comes out on DVD, because I can only imagine the outtakes from the scenes with Murray and Harrelson!

I just got back from theater, having gone by myself. I have to admit I laughed out loud and I snorted a few times. I didn't think "Talladega Nights" was very funny, nor "Anchorman", so I had low-to-medium expectations for this one. But, then again, I'll go to see Will Ferrell in pretty much anything! You can tell they must've had a lot of fun filming this, and were at their best when they were hurling insults at each other. And how can you resist that cheesy marketing photo, posed like little boys as parents would in a studio photog opp? "40 Year Old Virgin" had that same kid-stuck-in-an-adult-body feel to it. Highly enjoyable film - I can't wait for the rental, as I'm sure the outtakes/bloopers will be a riot!
