I give sitcoms a number of episodes to show signs of interesting characters. Some of the cast are folks I've enjoyed in other shows: Danny Pudi (Community), Catherine Tate (The Office), Joe Morton (Scandal). What wasted talent. You won't laugh, you won't be surprised, and above all, you won't care about any of the characters. I don't see a path forward for redeeming the characters or the premise.
BTW, I can't figure out what country Catherine Tate's fake accent is supposed to be. IRL she's British, but her affected accent is some weird cross between a bad Dutch accent and a comical German accent. So disappointing.

So much fun, with great nostalgia bringing back Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and especially Bronson Pinchot's Serge. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Bacon are good additions. Everything you'd expect from a Beverly Hills Cop movie (including over-acted, over the top villains, great car chases, and funny quips).
Of course it's predictable and implausible, but that's not why you watch. At the end of the day, all of these aging actors still look good. Maybe it wouldn't be as much fun if you hadn't seen the original film, but who hasn't seen the original? (BTW, that's all you need to see to have all the references make sense.)
