Richie is definitely Nivin Pauly's ambitious project but acting in a remaked film was a bad choice. Rakshit shetty(director/actor/writer) of ulidavaru kandante(Kannada version) has done a marvelous work in terms of everything. We do go with high expectations because its original work was excellent and we do expect this tamil version to repeat the same. while ulidavaru kandante was a anthology neo-noir crime-drama film but this tamil version misses a lot of it.

Positives- 1.) Zaira Wasim- Acting was superb 👍 2.) Aamir Khan- His comedy role was good and funny. Few good comedies here and there and his role was a comic relief in this highly melodramatic film.😂😂 3.) Meher vij( mom) , Raj Arjun(dad) , kabir(young brother) and tirth (boyfriend)- All were excellent and their acting was in par with Zaira's acting. Raj Arjun's Serious role as angry father is definitely one of the best performance he has done and he needs to applauded for that. Meher Vij as innocent mother gave her natural performance in this film (her emotional performance was superb).

Negatives- 1.) Advaith Chandan (director and script writer)- His script was full of dramatic dialogues but thanks to those actors whose natural performance didn't show any sign of it. His vision about this movie was completely filled with sentimental clichés trying to make people cry (Just like tubelight). But luckily it wasn't as bad as Tubelight because tubelight was king of melodrama. His casting of actors was perfect and relief for the audience otherwise my rating would have gone below 2.5.

2.)Climax- Film had few good scenes here and there and towards the end i was expecting a good ending and it was almost going to the right track when suddenly they shifted to the highly melodramatic track where it reminded me of 90's Bollywood climax .

3.)Length of the film

Overall- I was disappointed because i heard good reviews and people were giving 4 stars and i though it will be a good film.(Some critics said that it was the one of the best Bollywood film of 2017) But my opinion is going to be exact opposite of it. Those who love highly melodramatic films can go for it. Others please stay away and wait for its DVD print. (Watch it only for the best performances of the cast) My rating- 2.5/5

POSITIVES - 1.) DQ's cameo was worth it and will leave you with tears.

2.) 2 child actors were excellent.

3.) Shane Nigam gets a crispy role and he shines with his performance.

4.) Siddique as usual has done his father role well with expression of emotions on the raw side.(without any doubt he proves that he is one of the best actors in Indian cinema) 5.) Cinematography was top notch and will keep you engrossed in to the scenes.

6.)Editing was raw and crispy.

7.)Direction story and script by Soubin is undoubtedly the best and his imaginations to create every scenes creatively and adding rawness to the scenes makes this film a must watch. Using birds in the story and creating emotions with it is an appreciable idea. As a story-writer to he succeeded by creating varied characters with painful pasts and present, bittersweet realities of the region and its portraits of friendships.

8.)Songs and BG score by Rex Vijayan is worth mentioning. His BG score goes well with the flow of the scenes and his songs suit the movie well.

Negatives - 1.) Duration- Duration was bit long and at times we can feel lag in the scenes.

Overall-

With 8 positives and 1 negative you can figure it out how good the movie is. Everyone should go and watch this movie in theaters because its worth it. We need more movies like this and hoping for Soubin to continue with his direction.(By the way his villain role with Sreenath Bhasi was amazing) My rating - 4.3/5
