Ruby (Jean Reno) is a silent convict, a temperamental criminal who thinks only about escaping from prison to avenge the death of his lover (Leonor Varela) at the hands of a mobster, while also attempting to unearth a valuable loot from a previously committed robbery, which is well hidden. In the same cell is Quentin (Gérard Depardieu), a lousy, botcher petty thief, being large and dim-witted, who can't keep quiet, always getting into mischief. Thus, Ruby is tormented by the verbosity of his cellmate until things lead to an even more complicated fate. Throughout, the unlikely and peculiar duo is being relentlessly chased by a stubborn and swift policeman (Richard Berry) , along with an evil crime boss.
A film of the "Buddy Movies" genre, including noisy action, pursuits, confusion, shootouts and big fun. Francis Veber is the screenwriter of charming comedias such as " Little Vices" and its sequel " La Cage aux Follies". His greatest directorial success was the box-office hit " Dinner for Schmucks", following the commercially successful "Coming out". This amusing "Shut up !", follows the same vein of simple-minded yet eccentric roles. It turns out to be a bombastic comedy with sparkling dialogues and silly situations, taking advantage of the difference in character between the roles played by two of the best actors in French cinema, such as: Jean Reno, a specialist in performing tough and reserved types as "The professional", "Ronin", or "The Crimson Rivers" and the chameleonic Gérard Depardieu, capable of playing comic characters, usually good-natured or dim-witted, as in the saga " Asterix and Obelix" or " Coming out of the Closet", as well as in dramatic roles, such as: " Novecento" or his big hit "Cyrano de Bergerac". Along with them, a good cast of renowned French supporting actors: Richard Berry, André Dussolier, Jean-Pierre Malo, Lauren Gamelon, Moscato, the prestigious interpreter Michael Aumont, as well as a brief appearance by the beautiful Leonor Varela in a double but short role.
The motion picture was decent and competently written/directed by Francis Veber. This writer and filmmaker with a long career, working since the early 1980s, is one of the finest craftsmen in French cinema. An expert in comedies, many of which, in addition to the French versions, have been adapted in Hollywood, either by himself or directed by other filmmakers. Among the most successful films by this aforementioned author are: "Le Chevre" (1981), "Les Compares" (1983), "Three fugitives" (1989), "Dinner game" (1998), "Coming out of the closet" (1990), among others. Score: 6.5/10. An acceptable and almost remarkable movie, especially recommended for fans of Depardieu and Reno, delighting their enthusiasts, since they command the screen.

A twilight Western with some old-school elements and others more modern ones. It's deliberately paced, with a deep character study of the main roles, but the result is neither entirely successful, nor satisfactory. Dealing with brothers Sisters, Eli (John C. Reilly) and Charlie (Joaquín Phoenix), they are bounty hunters and hitmen for hire. They are contracted as murderers by The Commodore (Rutger Hauer) to assasinate a man named Hermann Kermit Warm. The Commodore tells them Hermann robbed him and quickly left town. Along the tumultuous paths they pursue two men, John Morris (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Hermann Kermitt (Riz Ahmed), across the West, while facing off their own moral dilemmas. Across dangerous trails, thousands of miles from Oregon landscape to San Francisco, numerous adventures and violent events unfold. There are several complications between them, and their fraternal relationship ends up dwindling and getting worse and worse.
This is one of the strangest Westerns in recent years, with a twilight and cold vision of the Wild West, thus dealing mainly with the peculiar relationship of two brothers who go in search for their target, a gold prospector, in order to kill him. The style eventually darkens as it develops, with sometimes a brief ironic or black comedy tone in the relationship of the two Sisters brothers. The promising combination of plot, a first-class main cast, evocative cinematography and direction by the prestigious Frenchman Jacques Audiard, does not produce the desired output, resulting in something disappointing, slow and frankly boring, though both Joaquín Phoenix, John C. Reilly and their counterparts, Jake Gyllenhaal, Riz Ahmed, swallow the irregular script at will, providing decent performances. For all which, despite all its potential and an impressive casting, this Western gradually declines, perhaps because all the characters involved are not very likeable, without managing to captivate the audience, and the environment in which it sets turns out to be quite gloomy with many night and dark scenes in which it is not clear what is happening.
The motion picture was professionally but unevenly directed by Jacques Audiard, considering that it has been critically overrated. When it comes to European Thrillers, Jacques Audiard has few equals in Europe. His best film, the violent, hard-hitting prison drama "A Prophet", shows him to be an expert on the matter subject, directing with relentless mastery, and for which he won several Caesars, BAFTA and Cannes Awards. Audiard is a skilled writer and filmmaker. In the 1980, he wrote the scripts for successful films, such as: "Mortelle Randonnee", "Saxo" , " Frequence Merurte" and "Grose Fatigue". Thanks to the prestige of these movies, he secured funding to make his first feature film, "Un hero tres discreet", and then , "Sur Mes Levres". In 2018, he made "The Sisters Brothers" and in 2021, "Les Olympiades París 13e" and his latest hit, the Oscar-winning "Emilia Pérez". "The Sisters Brothers" score: 5.5/10. An acceptable and passable movie, but not a superior Western, recommended for die-hard fans of the genre.

A classical action adventure resulting to be pleasingly old-fashioned and extremely entertaining. Nominated for the musical score in 2024 Oscars for the always excellent John Williams, Harrison Ford returns to bring Indiana to life in this fast-paced adventure with plenty of movement and journeys through time (in a doble sense). Mythical archaelogist Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) undertakes a race against time to retrieve a legendary artifact. He will have to confront nasty Nazis and many dangers. Here brave Indiana Jones risks his life facing off enemies and along the way, finding love again. The film begins in 1945 with the Third Reich about to evaporate and disappear in ruins. Indiana Jones tries to recover some artifacts stolen by the Nazis, such as "The Spear of Longinus", this allows him to get hold of part of powerful and dangerous "Antkythera Mechanism", more than 2.0000 years old and supposedly made by the Greek mathematical scientist Archimedes who lived in Syracuse. Then, 25 years later, we have an already aging Indiana Jones, about to retirement, he meets his friend Basil Shaw (Toby Jones) and his daughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), which leads him to get back into action to prevent the Antikythera from causing wreak havoc in the history of mankind.
The story contains action-packed, adventures, tongue-in-cheek, and it's a really fun film. Final of the quintet, but still crowded-pleasing, amusing and full of old-fashioned escapism. Elderly Harrison Ford interprets masterfully the daredevi and valiant archaelogist transformed into an action man. This time he is accompanied by the young Phoebe Waller-Bridge who is pretty good as well. Together with Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as a treasure hunter and Indy's goddaughter, stars Mads Mikkensen as the Nazi scientist Jurgen who 25 years after became Dr Schmidt, emulating the real-life Nazi scientist Von Braun, who in the US became a prestigious scientist by pioneering space travel. Also appearing in short roles are Antonio Banderas as the captain of a small ship, Karen Allen and John Ryhis-Davies, providing nostalgic touches by returning to saga's traditional characters. The motion picture was competently directed by James Mangold.
The series is made up of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" by Spielberg, produced by George Lucas, stars Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, John Rhys-Davies, Ronald Lacey. It spawned various sequels, imitations and copies. "Indiana Jones and the temple of doom" by Spielberg with Ford, Kate Capshaw, Ke Huy Quan, Philip Stone, Roshan Seth . "Indiana Jones and the last Crusade", starring Ford, Sean Connery, Alison Doody, Denholm Elliott, Julian Glover. "Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the cristal skull" by Spielberg, stars Ford, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone. And the last one, "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny". And TV series produced by George Lucas, "The young Indiana Jones" with Sean Patrick Flannery.
