Min Nam-koong would I willingly, if not intrepidly, spend 12 hours watching someone with a terminal illness who is not a friend or family member.

I truly HATE movies with sad endings but at least I know the score going in and will not complain later that I wasn't warned. Debating whether or not a prescription anti-depressant would be prudent?

Meanwhile, from the several episodes I have seen, I am unsurprised by the quality of the production and its performances. It is MNK, after all.

But I am in a quandary: if I go ahead and give it 8 stars (changing it later, if needed) will that encourage more dying dramas? Or, in these already depressing times, may we have more of the intelligent humor we have come to expect from him? Please?

This little gem languished in my watchlist queue FOREVER because, once again, I under-estimated the quality based on the title and premise.

However, it is totally an outstanding product with excellent writing, casting and direction.

Since it all begins with the writing, Yeon Seo Choi and Choi Young-Woo, deserve a standing O for their script. A script that, besides the romance between the ML and FL, also did justice to two, no make that three(!) other supporting cast couples, deftly weaving all their stories together, along with some other interesting sub-plots. Sub-plots, I might add, that did not include any unusual perils. Partly because of these layers, the series never sagged during the middle episodes, as so often happens, leaving the impression that available material is being stretched to the max. Instead, one arrives at the finale and wishes for more, much more. That is some great writing.

And what a great cast! From the ML and FL leads down to every supporting cast member, all performed above expectations.

This is one series that deserves repeat watching.
