I don't know why there are so many awful reviews as I thought it had great charm. I also really enjoyed the whole what's in the painting, the card game versus the chess game, and her pains takingly restoring the painting. While not a magnificent movie, I thought it was a great made for TV type of mystery romance movie. And it had a great cast of very well-known actors, an interesting plot and I thought they all the actors did really well. Kate Beckinsale is so young in this, really very precious. I even looked up the guy who played Domenic. He had a small career but I thought he was cute. Pay no attention to the reviews and just have a good time.
Just finished the first episode. Was Billy Piper born just so she could play Cassandra? I kind of think so. I couldn't have loved Kaos more. I'm a Greek Mythology nut and I'm also irreverent. Perfect viewer. Of course I knew Eurydice would die and Orpheus would follow her. Killian Murphy has an extraordinary voice and is completely believable to me as a rock god. I love the entire premise. Kind of reminds me of Walll-E in its glossy fun on the outside and crushing insight into human behavior. Astonishingly clever to be so contemporary. I wondered if Jeff Goldblum would be too over the top, but it works perfectly. What a treat. Almost afraid to watch the second episode.
