I was very disappointed that the studio under James Gunn's management decided to move on without Henry Cavill. Gunn took a lot of responsibility and despite everything I wanted to give him a chance, as I'm a huge fan of GOTG and The Suicide squad was okay. The trailers looked average at best, but the actual movie turned out to be something even worse. The story doesn't feel like a Superman type of story, and more like a parody or satire of comic book movies. The whole screenplay screamed lazy writing throughout the whole movie. I wasn't impressed by anything, not a single scene. There were one or two epic shots with terrific cinematography where Superman looked god like, but that was all - 10 seconds of impressive filmmaking. I think that in the beginning the premise of the story maybe had potential, but the overall execution and the dialogues were very meh. I read that a lot of people claim that the movie feels like the Superman animated series and Justice League, but to me that is an insult to those classic series. They were far more mature with more serious approach and better jokes. Not only that, but also there was a sense of a real threat with high stakes and with characters that were developed and we cared about them.

There isn't anything new in this movie that you haven't seen before. Only that you've seen it a lot better in other movies. Remember the airplane sequence in Superman Returns or the action scenes In Man of steel, as there is nothing alike here, not even close to the greatness of these iconic scenes. In this case, Spider-Man 2 feels more like a Superman movie, unlike this parody.

Basically Gunn took the ideas of the first Superman movie, Superman Returns and Batman v Superman where Lex was the main antagonist and tried to make something similar, but the result was something disastrous.

Remember the scenes with Marlon Brando as Jor El or Russell Crowe and Kal-El's mother when they sacrificed everything so their child can live and do good on Earth. Well, they erased that orign story and replaced it with new one, that is beyond stupid and hurts the whole Superman legacy.

To sum up, this is not only the weakest James Gunn movie, but one of the weakest comic book movies ever as well. The Flash was better and I'm still in disbelief that people choose this Superman over Man of Steel. Even though Man of steel had some issues, the movie is far superior. I'm very concerned about the future of DC, as apperantly James Gunn is not the the right person for the job. The movies feels more like Josh Whedon's Justice League in qualities rather than Zack Snyder's Justice League.

We are all big fans of the original movie and I had a lot of hope that the sequel would be great as well. I watched it in 4DX and it felt like the whole cinema was blown away during the action scenes. Although the first movie was scarier and with more serious plot, the sequel stands on its own ground. I really liked the characters, their backstory, development and arcs. We get the feeling what those people do and sacrifice in real life day and night to find a way how to safe lives. The cinematography, effects and sounds were Oscar material and I do hope they get more recognition. The overall quality of the movie and the impact reminded me of the epic experience from Top Gun: Maverick.

In conclusion, "Twisters" is a grand scale movie and should be watch either in IMAX or 4DX. Just go and see it for the experience and you will enjoy the ride.

The first movie was quite original, epic, emotional and to be honest by far the better movie than this sequel. In my opinion the story of the first movie was somehow better and more intimate without tons of characters. Instead, It focused on several characters, including the villain, and they were all perfectly developed as 3 dimensional. We had an incredibly inspiring story (Leap of fate) and the tone was more serious. Moreover, we actually had a perfect ending and overall the movie was an absolute blast from start to finish. As I already mentioned, the problem of the sequel is that I feel the story is all over the place. It is actually a good simple story with plenty of potential, but the focus is deprived due to hundreds of other characters. The cinematography and the visuals on the other hand are insane and out of this world, just mesmerizing. However, same thing happened with Avatar 2 - amazing visuals, but the actual movie is not a masterpiece as the reviews are saying. When you think for a sequel in a franchise, you recall that there are movies like Terminator 2, Empire Strikes Back, Infinity War, The Dark Knight or Spider-man 2. Across the spider-verse isn't any of these movies. For instance, you can't compare the not so exiting cliffhanger of across the spider-verse with the ending of Infinity War. Maybe they should have spent more time establishing the villain of the story and we could have seen an epic conflict with Miguel Spider-Man 99 and Miles instead of the ending we got. I mean we should have gotten an ending similar to Infinity War or Empire Strikes back when Luke confronted Vader. They had all the potential there but couldn't use it perfectly. I hope that in the third part they will stick to the serious tone instead of babies, because I felt that the first movie was more mature and the second more childish. The plot of Miles being a "Mistake" is just too perfect to be overshadowed by introducing hundreds of characters with plenty of humor. I just want the more serious, dark and profound movie and I still hope that the third one will deliver it just like the original masterpiece.
