"Weapons" is one of the greatest horror movies of all time and will be talked about for generations. After Zach Cregger's "Barbarian," I was eager to see what would come next. With "Weapons," Cregger delivers a gripping story with an eerie, unsettling atmosphere. I loved the hazy, low light shots in several sequences, it's as if he wanted to capture the essence of a nightmare and put it on film. He's incredibly skilled in the way he uses framing and lighting.
Zach Cregger is about to blow up (deservedly so) to levels not seen since the early years of M. Night Shyamalan. It takes a rare talent to not only write but also direct and execute a film of this caliber. His ability to craft a compelling story, present it in a unique structure, and infuse it with horror is nothing short of a masterclass.
Watch this film ASAP!

I was immediately intrigued by Together after seeing its trailer, which teased a unique plot and creepy imagery. I'm happy to say the film largely delivered. Michael Shanks proves that horror doesn't need a massive budget or an overreliance on CGI to be effective. What it does need is a compelling story and a director with raw creative vision and Shanks brings both.
The first two-thirds of the movie were exceptional. I was impressed by the cinematography, the strong performances, and the eerie, brooding atmosphere. The scares were well-executed, often emerging from moments of silence and simplicity, something more horror directors should embrace. At that point, I genuinely felt like I was watching one of the best horror films in years.
However, the final act took a turn that didn't quite land for me. It introduced a few moments of silliness and light comedy that clashed with the dark, serious tone set earlier. The ending, while not terrible, felt a bit anticlimactic compared to the build-up.

I'm one of the rare fans who preferred 28 Weeks Later over 28 Days Later, so I came into this third installment as a fan of both. Unfortunately, Danny Boyle missed the mark with 28 Years Later.
While the acting was solid across the board, several scenes felt disjointed and didn't flow well. Some of the cinematography had a vintage look-presumably as an homage to the original, but it came off more like a low-budget setup from 20 years ago rather than intentional artistry. Some viewers may appreciate that aesthetic, but I wasn't feeling it.
That said, many other shots were beautifully composed, especially the wide-open landscapes. A few of the zombie sequences brought some fun and intensity, but overall the film struggled with pacing and occasionally leaned too far into art-house territory.
The music at times felt distracting, even irritating, particularly in the early parts of the film. And then there's the ending... Let's just say it left a lot to be desired. The randomness of it reminded me of the infamous pancake kid scene from Cabin Fever (2002)-except without the charm.
Oh well. Can't win them all.
