If Apple continues taking quality literature and making miniseries they need to be more authentic. Shantarm, like Foundation, lacks the depth and character of the book. The warmth, vibrancy, colour, and spirituality of Gregory David Roberts book are all missing in this series. It's fine as a programme, but as a dramatisation it is not even accurate in the tale, let alone the spirit, of the book.

I wish Apple would have the balls to just copy these stories properly. The books are popular and the producers must know this, and like the story, so why do they try and change them for TV. Grow a set Apple.

It's just poo. Don't bother til it's free - even then it's a pretty absurd alternative reality.
