A group of idealistic international independent journalists investigate cases as chosen by the collective. They start digging into a plane crash in Congo which killed a journalist. It unravels a Russian exploitation mine in Africa and so much more.

I don't recognize these actors other than Natascha McElhone and Gregg Sulkin. Some have accents. The show has a lot of texting initially which is not my favorite aspect of modern TV. Despite the ripped-from-the-headlines plot, the story feels a bit fake. It's not any worst than any other shows, but this wants to be real and impactful. I don't think that it's breaking through. Maybe this should be concentrating on one reporter. After a six episode first season, I don't see this continuing.

It's Thanksgiving in Plymouth, Massachusetts. More importantly, it's Black Friday in RightMart. A large crowd has gathered and waiting for the opening. Eric Newlon (Patrick Dempsey) is the Sheriff. Thomas Wright (Rick Hoffman) is the greedy store owner. His daughter Jessica Wright and her friends are allowed into the store before the opening. It starts a riot and people die in the ensuing chaos. It's a year later and nobody has been brought to justice. Thomas is doing another sale despite a feared repeat of the incident. A masked serial killer is on the loose.

This is an Eli Roth horror based on his fake trailer from Grindhouse. There are so many A-hole characters. Then I remember that it's an Eli Roth horror. Of course, it's filled with A-hole characters. Here's the thing. This is actually not that bad. First, Black Friday is no longer this anymore with all the internet shopping. I don't care about these characters. Their deaths mean very little to me. They are simple horror cannon fodder. I do really like the oven and the dinner although her hair should be burnt off. As for the murder mystery, it's fine. I was hoping for someone else, but the reveal is not as surprising as Eli probably wants. There is plenty of gore and it's good for an Eli Roth horror.

Adam Lemp (Claude Rains) is a classical musician with four beautiful musical daughters, Emma (Gale Page), Thea (Lola Lane), Kay (Rosemary Lane), and Ann (Priscilla Lane). They are all talking about men and men are certainly drawn to them. There are Felix Deitz (Jeffrey Lynn), Ben Crowley (Frank McHugh), Ernest Talbot (Dick Foran), and most interestingly Mickey Borden (John Garfield).

I don't know anything about the Lane sisters. I don't know any of these actresses. I do get them confused. I don't know who is going with who. Maybe people knew these ladies back in the day and would be able to distinguish them. This all seems very sweet and very old fashion initially. The door swing is simply adorable. Then John Garfield shows up with his troubled-boy energy. He's the pre-war James Dean. This got five Oscar nominations in big categories.
