Sadie McKee (Joan Crawford) works as a part-time maid with her cook mother in a rich household. Michael Alderson (Franchot Tone) is interested in her. She quits after they trash her boyfriend Tommy Wallace (Gene Raymond). The couple leaves for New York City, but it is a struggle. While she plans for marriage, he abandons her to perform on the road. She continues on as a dancer in a nightclub where she attracts the attention of rich drunk Jack Brennan (Edward Arnold).
The role is a good fit for Joan Crawford. The story could be rather frustrating. She is basically trying on every bad outfit before she finally gets to the only good looking one. Quite frankly, I'm not so sure about Michael either. He's a bit of a know-it-all. Through it all, I do get Sadie and Joan Crawford is great. I just want Michael to be a little softer.

It's the July 4th holidays in Southport, North Carolina. Ava Brucks visits her hometown for her high school friend Danica Richards' engagement party. The group of five friends causes a man to drive off a cliff presumably to his death. They swear to keep the incident secret. One year later, Ava returns for Danica's wedding. Danica receives a note, "I know what you did last summer".
The original is really only a B-horror, but it did have some of the hottest actors at the time and Jennifer Love Hewitt's cleavage. As for the new cast, I barely know a couple of them but none are big stars. It is a downgrade from the original cast who shows up here. The only truly interesting cameo is Sarah Michelle Gellar. It's a good swing into the surreal. I don't like the older cast injecting themselves into the new reboot. As for the story, this is where the movie falls apart. As a reboot, they always want to play with the premise and make a couple of mistakes. First, these young characters are older than the original. The originals are recent high school graduates. They are young enough to be that dumb. This group should be at least 5 years or more older. They cannot be this dumb. How dumb? It goes to the basic premise. They don't need to lie about the incident. One guy lost his shirt and that could give him away. Just go to the cops with a common story. The change in the incident really decreases their culpability and the reason for lying. The rest is just slash and go. I don't like the addition of the older cast and the twists associated with that. They may as well just reboot with the old cast.

Sam (Rebel Wilson) is the estranged childhood best friend to Betsy (Anna Camp). She is the bridesmaid host of Betsy's bachlorette party in Paris. She is also a secret agent on a mission. She abandons the party for the mission and gets demoted in the bridal party. She reluctantly goes to the wedding and happens upon a gang taking everyone captive.
Rebel Wilson is playing an action hero with comedic quips. She's also a little angry. I don't think it works, but it is interesting that she's trying this on. Maybe she needs to be a happy-go-lucky character. This movie gets worst after it turns Die Hard. For example, Sam rarely picks up the guns and ammo from the dead bad guys. The action is poorly done. They try to make it comedic and I'm not laughing. Everybody involved needs to rethink the comedic premise of it all.
