It is not your typical romantic comedy. It is rather a fusion of emotions from the desperation of wanting a relationship with someone that is a philanderer. Clearly, there is a lesson to be learned from both standpoints.
This film presented the perfect facade of a charming young couple, Iris and Issac on a romantic countryside weekend getaway. One could conclude they have been dating for quite some time, but that is not the case. After their erotic lovemaking, Iris tells Isaac how she feels about their first trip as a "couple". Que in the record scratch! Isaac hesitantly tells her that he's not into being a couple. A night of romance turns into a weekend of obsession. Iris goes into desperate mode in attempts to convince Isaac to fall in love with her while he's handcuffed to the bed. Iris is so fixated on being part of a meaningful relationship, she goes online to doctor Google searching for how to keep a man. She even involves her best friend, Max (Geraldine Viswanathan) and Max's boyfriend Kenny (John Reynolds).
Molly Gordon was absolutely great as Iris, the desperate young woman wanting to be loved and obsessed in being in a meaningful relationship. Gordon paired up well with Logan Lerman, who plays the womanizer Issac. Although their characters were not a match, they both worked well on screen.
It was a fun cast to watch in this romantic comedy that at times leans into the dark side. However, the story has a great message to those looking for love and entering the dating scene. Don't be desperate. Don't take advantage of the lonely hearts. It can come back to haunt you. Or like in the case of Isaac, leave you cuffed to a bed.

This 2025 slasher retains the original campy who done it storyline with quirky comedy. It is sure to be a summer horror hit.
The sequel introduces a new stellar cast Madelyn Cline as Danica Richards, Chase Sui Wonders as Ava Brucks, Jonah Hauer-King as Milo Griffin, Tyrig Withers as Teddy Spencer, and Sarah Pidgeon as Stevie Ward, which complemented well with the OGs Freddie Prinze Jr. As Ray Bronson and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Julie James. The events take place 28 years after the Tower Bay murders, when another "Fisherman" hook-wielding killer turns up and begins terrorizing a group of friends one year after they covered up the accident of a truck going over a cliff, supposedly killing the driver.
Director Robinson used an excellent method of slow wave-like the ocean of events that builds up intensity all the way to the end. The entire cast brought their A-game, and their performance paid off in every scene. Tyrig Withers was surprisingly impressive and lovable. Madelyn Cline shows her incredible talent as morphing into multiple personality traits, yet she shines like a stunning diva. Freddie Prinze Jr. Knows how to create piercing, shocking moments - hands down!
I Know What You Did Last Summer will have you laughing and screaming, then leaving you hooked on suspense up until the final reveal on who is behind the Fisherman killer. There are two exciting cameos that will definitely thrill audiences, also a post credit scene hinting at another sequel to hook and reel us in.

From Directors André Kadi and Karine Vézina comes this beautiful, animated story about a little girl, Frida Kahlo, who overcomes the many adversities that she experienced during her youth. Hola Frida is based loosely on the real life of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Writers Anne Bryan, Sophie Faucher and Kadi respectfully highlight Kahlo's positive aspects and strong determination defying the odds of having a physical disability.
The story takes place in the early 1900's in Coyoacán, Mexico where little Frida (voiced by Emma Rodriguez and Olivia Ruiz) is playing and singing, just full of life and charisma. She has a deep benevolence for animals and a strong bond with her dog Chiquita. Frida has a loving relationship with her younger sister Cristina (voiced by Rebeca Gonzales). Their father Guillermo (voiced by Manuel Tadros) works as a photographer who is creative and continuously encouraging Frida to pursue her artistic talents. Their mother Matilde (voiced by Sophie Faucher) is assertive and maintains the family together during difficult times. When Frida is diagnosed with polio, she goes into the world of imagination where she finds her strength to pull through the pain and evade the clutches of La Muerte (voiced by Annie Girard). With her father's inspiration, Frida channels her anguish through coloring pictures and creating artwork.
After overcoming polio, Frida is teased by Rafael (Joey Bélanger) because of her deformed leg. Her friend Tonito (Léo Côté) comes to her defense and proves he is a friend that she can rely on. Regardless of Rafael's demeanor, Frida shows compassion and understands that Rafael's emotional pain stems from the loss of his father. They all instantly become close friends, which becomes an essential part for Frida when she encounters another misfortune during her first year in college.
The story of little Frida is full of warm felt moments that will tug the strings of your heart. It is a story of magnificent resilience and loyal friendships. The music score was moving with the rich, lively sounds of mariachi. The artistic style of imagery, created by Art Director Marie Michelle Laflamme, captures the historical culture of Mexico and the traditional practices of Zapotec. The use of vibrant colors is an ideal representation of Frida's vivid imagination on the celebration of life and the use of grey scale indicating gloom and pain.
Hola Frida is a wonderful tribute to the late Frida Kahlo. It is an excellent film for all ages to discover the enchanting history of Mexico, while learning to find your inner strength when encountering the challenges of life and to embrace opportunities. Viva la vida! Long Live Life!
