Well I have to admit,when I heard about this movie,watched the trailer on Quicktime....I was thinking 'this movie is funny.' Now that I've actually seen it,the sentiment holds true....among other things. Its...different,that much is for sure. I think,the only disturbing point in the movie came when the farmer who lives across the road from Napoleons family,chose the moment that the schoolbus drove up,with all the kids watching no doubt,to shoot the cow or steer that he was going to give to Napoleons aunt [?] or sell for meat. Other than that slightly offkilter scene,which wasn't shown to the audience,at least on the DVD,there isn't a thing that could be hated about the movie. I kinda wonder....does anyone else who might've watched the expanded version in theaters think there might be a sequel? I've got a feeling that they might've left it with the last words....'and the story continues' or something....to set up a possible sequel,but thats just my opinion.

Oh yeah I own this one too. Shocked? Don't be. I share the name of the oldest human girl in this movie,Megan. And I used to want,so badly,to have her adventures when I was younger. She lived a 'fairy tale life come true.' And when all was said and done,she knew her sister and brother,would be safe and sound waiting for her. Sorry,its not all about 'Megan' is it? Used to own a lot of the older ponies....and I kick myself for giving them away. Heck I even bought the first edition of this movie when it was released on 'Vestron Video'. Tony Randall used to crack me up as that absent minded warlock. I was saddened when the lady who voiced the red headed witch,Madeline Kahn,passed away not too long ago. Heck I even remember,sometimes,the sweet little girl who played Molly,as she was on 'Our House' at the time,and she had the cutest face and the most quiet voice....yet she could make someone feel the emotion she was trying to convey,when she acted. I didn't even know that 'Molly' was in the movie 'Testament',until I happened to plug her name,Keri Houlihan,into this search engine. I sometimes wonder what happened to her. And Danny. Don't have to wonder about Ms. Amerson,though I suspect Mrs. would be correct now,since I remember reading she married. I'll confess this....when 'Megan' was trying to escape the field of sunflowers...I was hoping she would be 'smoozed',and become apathetic,so her sister and brother could carry on,and try to get her the help she needed. Oh well,all movies can't be like 'The Chronicles of Narnia.' Peace out.

I own this movie,and I saw it when it was on television as well. It was wonderful. And it was as true to some of the other versions,as what they had been,of the Lewis Carrol story. The special effects,especially the 'Mad Hatter' were fitting,given how they were done by the Henson company,if memory serves me correctly. True the 'Red Queen' was kind of shrill,and nowhere near as frightening as her animated counterpart,but thats what makes 'live action' so different from animation. Though I have to wonder,where was the 'Jabberwocky' in this '99 adaptation of the story? Perhaps the funniest scene? 'Aunties Wooden Leg',as sung by the Mad Hatter at the Tea Party. Nuff said. Interesting notation: As I have read somewhere,I believe,the real 'Alice Lidell' was a brunette,and the story was written for her. You think the creators of the made for TV movie,knew of this,when they cast Ms. Majorino in the role of Alice? Maybe. Or maybe they knew she was the best choice to fit with the rest of the cast,especially Whoopi,whom she had worked with prior,in Corinna Corinna? Either way,I doubt they could've found someone,okay maybe Amanda Bynes,who would've been as wonderful as Alice was,and who meshed so well with the rest of the cast. Hopefully,I will get the chance to see the now adult Tina,as a blonde,and in Napoleon Dynamite. And now that I have seen Napoleon Dynamite on DVD,I kinda feel I have to negate the part about Tina being blonde in said movie,Napoleon Dynamite. Why? She wasn't blonde.
