I hated Ryan Phillipe back in the late 90s, during his cruel intentions / I know what you did last summer era and for over a decade avoided anything with him in the credits. Browsing Netflix one night and I come across shooter, having seen the film with Mark Wahlberg and hearing he was going to be a producer on this one with other producer credits such as entourage and the fighter I thought why not. I got hooked, 5 episodes in I actually pay attention to credits and see Ryans name pop up,hes actually pretty good in this!! Anyways long story short, I hate having to wait a week at a time for episodes.I may even have to check what else he has been doing or just wait several more weeks and then binge watch this series.
I read the reviews here before going in, not expecting the film to live up to them and leaving the cinema I thought it hadn't.
On the train home I thought it hadn't, The following few days I thought it hadn't and then I realised it was taking up all my spare brain space. I watched the midnight showing of the new star wars, even on the way home I had moved on from that. This never left, it was raw, it was emotional, even knowing the outcome you wished for it to be different. You cry for the family and because of the story and because of how they opened up their lives to show you something as personal as this. Live for the moment as you never know, if you can, go see this film!, Be Here Now!

I've been a big fan of the British series since it started way back when so was interested to see an American version, I'm still waiting.
If your a fan of the original avoid this, all it has in common is 1/ the title, 2/ its a woman trying to make it in a mans world, 3/ her first name (they even changed her surname) Based on it being a "prime suspect" id rate it 1 outta 10, it lacks everything that is good about the British one, every episode is wrapped up neatly after an hr, it lacks the grit an depth of the original and, well, everything but the three things named above.
If you watch it not knowing the original series then you'll get your usual formula cop show that seems to be thrown at us from all sides these days and would rate it maybe a 7 based on the first few episodes
