Dave worked for a number of years in the newspaper industry in a variety of positions including photographer, business columnist, copy editor and illustrator. He also photographed freelance assignments for various magazines, wire services and other newspapers including the Washington Post. During this time he picked up on digital imaging technology, interactive media design and web design, and now incorporates those skills into his film projects. Dave runs San Diego-based Malfunction Films, a production company specializing in feature films, short films and episodic web series.
