Maybe I saw too many vampire movies ? I found this one as cliché as possible. Nightclubs full of lost souls, drugs and alcohol, sex and nihilism... The lead is supposed to be a tortured artist yet behaves more like a moody teenager. The art worl depiction is superficial.

Still, some good points : although unoriginal, the aesthetics are perfect. I also appreciate the ending, that is the choice of both leads with regards to immortality. It suits the theme of the movie.

I give five stars : I would have loved it were I still a teenager. The pacing, the tone, the theme remind me of an Anne Rice - like novel.

First, what I liked. Several good ideas in there. Using technology and adding a bit of mysticism, yes. Strange coincidences seeming like magic, yes. Title cards "la veille" repeating three times, yes.

Not so good acting... I only had acces to a French dub, sadly. Maybe in Portuguese the voices are more convincing. The dialogues sounded weird to me, too long with too little said. Unrealistic dialogue can be good, akward can be good too but here it is not that, it is just long and empty and boring. Maybe the score makes it worse. Maybe The actors makes it worse ? Maybe the translation ? It all sounded so lifeless and boring, like reading from a script while mimicing and gesturing.

The score was bad. Beautiful music, but bad timing. Dramatic music all the time means no drama. Don't put hopefull music when nothing but a garage door is opening, especially when the intended destination of the trip is dreadfull... Hopefull score when nothing happens, no rythm when something happens... Actually it sounded like only one album was used for the whole movie, with the artist playing very, very similar sounds. Long chords.

Some shots are beautiful, obviously shot with a drone. In contrast the other shots often look ugly. Bad lighting, mostly.

In short : good pitch idea, bad script, bad realisation, bad actors, bad soundtrack. Sorry.
