Awesome multigenerational story. The set design, cinematography and costume design were great. I can't say enough about the quality of the acting, especially the actors/actresses who portrayed the three or four main characters throughout the series. If you watch it with English dubbing, remember that the sometimes over dramatic dubbing isn't the actor's fault.
I didn't always completely understand the Korean cultural references. And a couple of times I was a little confused by the back-and-forth, non-chronological storytelling. Still, I felt totally immersed in the story.
The only thing that was kind of annoying was all of the crying. Not just little teary-eyed crying but all-out ugly-face, snotty nose, yelling and screaming crying. It just seemed awkward and overdone. Even so, this series is great and I recommend it.

OMG! There is so much boring, irrelevant talking in this show. I like the game itself, but efforts to build artificial drama are maddening. I absolutely cannot watch the show live. I record it and then fast-forward through all of the yackety-yack. I'm able to watch the entire show in about 15 minutes.
I've done the math. Each show has nine "battles". Each of the two contestants in the battle gets 45 seconds, so each battle lasts around 90 seconds. Nine battles times 90 seconds equals about 14 minutes. That's how much actual watchable content there is. Everything else is absolute drivel . This should be a 30 minute show.

I wanted to watch this because I love biographical movies. But this one told me nothing about the life and career of Maria Callas. It was disjointed and difficult to follow. I don't know why filmmakers have decided that biographical stories have to be told in this non-linear style. Why must a person's story always be done in random memories and flashbacks? Why can't you just tell it from beginning to end? If filmmaking is about storytelling, just tell the story and stop trying to be so artsy-fartsy that the story becomes incomprehensible.
I watched this movie for about an hour trying desperately to like it or at least to learn something about Maria Callas. But I finally gave up. Just couldn't do it.
