When I saw IMDB rating of 8+ out of 10 my expectations were high, but.... I only got into the start of episode 2 before the crass idiocy of the characters, especially the annoying teenage daughter, became too much to handle. Is the world really like this anymore anyway? I would hope not (does anyone think smoking doesn't kill you anymore?) in truth, This show probably tells you more about the current misogynistic, screw everyone else
state of America under Trump that says drill baby drill instead of taking global warming seriously. ...or maybe it's me, have I missed the point? Is this is a really clever irony ?
The impact of the USA's food industrial complex is profound on global health, climate change and wealth inequality. Food Inc (1 & 2) expose Big Food for what it is; a profit driven industry that produces more food than is needed and an ever greater appetite to consume it, all the time driving up profits and market share. This is not to be conflated with the vegan versus omnivore argument, although the solution is to return to a whole foods, plant based diet. Instead, Inc 2 makes the case for a regulations and consumer led paradigm shift in attitudes against ultra processed foods and a return to a healthier population and planet.
