The idea is very interesting, a story of a haunted house in the perspective of the ghost, it's what got my attention to want to watch this film. Secondly, I am a fan of Steven Soderbergh's films for the most part.
The marketing of this film has me under the impression that I was going to watch a horror film, not a mystery/crime drama.
And the one thing that bugged me the most was when we know who the "bad guy" is. This ghost, who already performed some poltergeist behavior, which informs the family that they are NOT ALONE, but the ghost doesn't do that every time the "bad guy" is around.
If you, the ghost, would have poltergeisted every time that guy came around, the family would have to think "something about this guy is very disturbing to the PRESENCE. Maybe there is something about him we should be wary of."

This movie has replay value. The plot is established immediately, making the direction of the story easy to follow and allows the twist to unravel in a satisfying way.
Imagine you're stuck on a plane with Eric Forman from That 70's Show, a formerly failed Marshal in Madolyn who is seeking a second chance in her career and Mark Wahlberg in his final form as an absolute menace.
With these three distinctly different characters, the banter is fun and entertaining, but becomes hostile and psychotic as secrets are revealed between the three are stuck on a flight together.
The turbulence definitely sets the mood for a rough ride, both psychically and narratively.
