It's 2025 and I have just watched The Running Man which is directed by Paul. It made me remember his portrayal of Houdini which is also an under rated gem from the canon of Mr Glaser it's probably 40 years since I watched Paul's portrayal of Houdini and in my opinion it's is the best (so far?).

I think a quality biopic of Houdini is long overdue. I recently went to the cinema to see Nosferatu and I feel the talented director of N would be well advised to attempt a Houdini project rather than his tame remake of a well trodden tale in Nosferatu. One of Houdini's fascinating quests was to expose charlatan Seance hoaxers whom were relieving grieving and vulnerable people of their money due to séances and the paranormal being a populist movement of the time. Mr Glaser's performance does justice to the amazing showman Houdini and even today I suspect at least 50% of Western folks have heard about Houdini hey?

Paul Michael Glazer directed this hidden gem. He was a superb actor as well as a Director here.

The Running Man reminded me of RoboCop by Paul Verehoeven and whom also worked with Arnie in Total Recall. Due to the satirical trailers for other game shows in RM and adverts in RC both satirising our consumer culture and remarkably prescient for our society in 2025. Paul was Starsky in Starsky and Hutch which was a massive hit of its time, at least in the U. K. where I was a child at the time and it was the 9pm Saturday night headliner. I also remember his portrayal of Houdini in possibly a T. V. movie but he brought this amazing person to life for a more modern audience. Perhaps a Houdini biopic is long overdue hey?

During this period Arnie made some truly timeless or at least entertaining sci-fi movies such as Running Man, Total Recall, The Predator and Terminator 1.

'I'll be back' has become part a line used in advertising and popular culture these days hey?

I remember a pal quoting a timeless Arnie line from The Running Man, 'Food Riot In Progress '. You have to ham up his accent for the laughs.

Anyway both Running Man and RoboCop came out in 1987 and it seems to me the satirical content must have been a collaboration between the Directors with possibly Arnie being a mutual friend/colleague? Lots of love people.
