This is a touching story about the force of nature, and how we destroy ourselves and bla bla bla. Goddamn it, this movie is just too damn weak to watch! DON'T watch it! don't even try, you will get to the same half-baked status which i am in right now! nooooo!!!

Maybe I just lack the necessary sense of humour which is required to understand this rather dubious piece or "work". It would appear as if Brooks had a 12 year old kid to sit in his office and write the jokes. I mean, "the Shcwartz"??? 97% of the jokes are so unfunny, it makes you think why this movie is considered a comedy.

Everything in this movie is wrong: The actors are horiffically bad (with the exception of a rather comic performance by Rick Moranis), the jokes are awful, and there is no imagination. "Yogurt" is another example why this movie should be banned.

Almost every joke is copied of another film, or is so unoriginal that you just want to laugh. Not with the cast of course, at them.

This is one of those rare movies that has it all: an interesting story (albeit kind of cartoonish), great actors, great costumes.

The story is about a man named Corban Dallas (Bruce Willis), who has been chosen to save the world of "the ultimate evil", with the help of "the fifth element" - the perfect being, played by Mila Jovovich. The oter actors include the hilarious Chris Tucker, Ian Holm, and Gary Oldman in his usual type of performance. The cast for this movie is perfect, all of the cast giving brilliant performances. Bruce Willis couldn't be more perfect for this role.

The direction in the movie is quite simply, superb. Luc Besson does a fantastic job creating a believeable future, while not out rageous, is quite unique.

Overall, this movie is one of those movies that makes you feel good, with great one-liners, excellent actors, and the feeling that the movie doesn't take itself too seriously.
