Came across this without seeing ang trailers and was really surprised. A strong effective thriller with a standout cast. Willa Fitzgerald.in particular was brilliant, I'd seen her in the Scream TV series but thought she played this character well. By the end I was so captivated by her.

The non linear storyline with chapters was a good direction choice too and did its job of keeping me guessing. Yes I agree with some that the character decisions were frustrating in some places, although overall the pace helped move along quickly.

Recommend giving this a go for a tense and unexpected thriller.

I'd purposely held off viewing trailers until I saw this after seeing some negative reviews pour in (and being disappointed by Tim Burton's recent films). But I was pleasantly surprised that this was a worthy sequel and genuinely equal to the original Beetlejuice.

From the minute Danny Elfman's score launched over the credits I knew this was going well, and it really hit all the right notes. The cast was brilliant with Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton and Catherine O'Hara bringing the nostalgia and Jenny Ortega a fresh and correct addition.

The pacing, story and throw backs to the original were all on point. As a few people mentioned, the choice of clay animation and practical sets really honoured the first Beetlejuice and brought me back to Tim Burton's heydays. And it was funny - the choral Jump In The Line rendition got me good!

Definitely recommend this for any fans of Beetlejuice.

I've been working through Guy Ritchie's filmography, and Aladdin is definitely an outlier, sandwiched in between King Arthur (which I really enjoyed) and The Gentlemen (2019). It's a relatively safe remake of the original Aladdin, especially amongst the raft of other live action Disney remakes that have flooded in over the past few years.

The film is visually impressive, colourful and the CGI is fantastic. Will Smith is great as the Genie and the story stays true to the original.

What felt missing was the magic from Aladdin (1992) and lack of personality in the characters - Jafar and the Sultan were especially iconic but here they don't have the same spark. I actually felt the same with Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott. Regardless it was still a decent remake and an enjoyable watch.
