While first trying to forget everything about this book. What I expected to see was an interesting take on what it'd be like living in a world where every day you wake up you're in another persons body. What I ended up with was a movie that I so offended by because all of the bad things, every moment that wasn't great, positive or just existing was played by a person of color. I'm completely serious. Justin? James? George (oh yeah I'm counting this one when his mother calls Rhiannon a whore)? Kelsea? Katie? Yup. This is ridiculous. Even Reverend Poole (who if you did happen to read the book know what's going on with his character) whose entire existence in this film is cut to one line, something like, "I think that's enough" is a black actor. How did no one see this and call them out while they were making the film? Scratch that, considering the Reverend Poole casting I'd say someone may have been intentionally deviant in their casting. I couldn't enjoy any of this. I have to stop now cause I'm not going to be able to not lash out due to my frustration. I didn't give it a one star cause they did actually cast a trans actor to play a trans character and I can't in my heart take that away from them. But everything else doesn't even matter. I actually wasn't that upset with the changes from the book and this is not a review of the book. Right now I hope that I never have to see another film like this ever again. It's 2018 people. This is unacceptable. Get it together.

To say I am a fan of Karen Gillan and John Cho is a fair statement. Actually I have followed them both for the last few years and have enjoyed watching them. Not that I couldn't see them performing together or anything like that but just didn't think the two would ever cross paths. Well, now I see that things were better left undone. I can see the potential for chemistry between them but the show drains all of the possibility away by trying to hard on every other front. This is a train wreck of epic proportions. I honestly don't know what was worse, the awkward man kissing, the ruining of Amiee Mann's One while Gillan holds her vomit in bags on the plane. The over oversexualization of her in bra and panties because.. reasons. Bonus, I'll give you a dollar if you can tell me why almost the entire company is on board for this flight. There's no explanation of this, just a statement to make it known and accept it as fact. I guess those are more reasons.. Then lets not forget the obligatory Chainsmokers track opening up this half hour of pain. Ugh. By the time we get to the ukulele cover of Bad Romance I just couldn't be bothered anyone. I know not one of their names. Even after special care was given to try and teach Gillan the receptionists name. Shame really cause I know that My Fair Lady is exceptional in all forms and somehow this one finds a way to take that away from us. If you so choose to ignore my words be warned, you won't get your life back after seeing it.

Seriously. The references and cameos are adorable please do not get me wrong. I chuckled at a lot of the "fish out of water" moments. I could watch this with children and friends and find it perfectly acceptable. Even better was having honest moments with Giselle and Morgan which were real life lessons in the midst of the fairy tale. Bonus, having the "damsel in distress" switch was a nice pay off in the end but having someone like Idina Menzel who is more than amazing not sing once is a terrible waste of a movie. True she went onto Frozen and most likely will be bigger and better but the surprise in finding her in this movie is tainted by the pure wastefulness of her even being it. Almost anyone could've played her part and the the worst thing.
