I like what they were doing, trying to redo a tear jerking old movie, with a female in the lead. For me, I never understood the whats and the whys. They obviously had amazing technology, but I needed more from them as to how it worked and why the character was stuck unless she uttered the last line.
I admit, there was a romantic involvement between the two women, but why did it happen?

The main character here is responsible for a lot of pain in a girl's life. She started cruel rumors about her in high school. Now those acts have come back to haunt her. The story goes along nicely as the smug young woman is dismantled by the former classmate. The problem is the whole absolute power thing that makes the ending silly.
