I went to this movie last night with high expectations. I certainly didn't expect anything of the brilliance of Toy Story or Finding Nemo, but I expected at least the quality of the Incredibles or Cars. Instead I got a pretty good movie that happens to rank at the bottom of all the Pixar movies made so far. Only mildly entertaining, Ratatouille is a pretty significant dropoff for Pixar in their new era after selling their studios to Disney. I would recommend this film for kids 9-12 but don't go in with high expectations. You will likely be disappointed if you do. My 14 year old daughter enjoyed it, but we both agreed that it didn't rate even as well as Surf's up and not even close to Happy Feet. More on the level of Over the Hedge or Monster House really.
One of the great comedies of our time. Released 10 years ago this riot of a movie should go down in history as one of the funniest movies ever. Ben Stiller plays his best part in this one. Tea Leoni is great.
Lilly Tomlin and Alan Alda are hilarious. And Patricia Arquette is beautiful as always. This movie builds and builds until the craziness reaches its peak in the final 15 minutes. I'd put it in the top 10 funniest movies ever with no qualms whatsoever. I'm not sure why this movie was so overlooked. I think that it had a very low budget and didn't get any publicity. It is a hidden gem for sure. If you don't see it you're missing out.

This movie was a pleasant surprise in it's overall acting and charm, with a wonderfully directed cast. Winn-Dixie was a fun movie and the dog was really not the star of this one. While the dog had charm, it was little India Opal who stole the show. With Dave Matthews and Cicely Tyson playing wonderful roles, the characters in this film steal your heart. Opal charms the old folks of this town who seem to have lost their joy. Once the candy factory was shut down the citizens hearts left with it. It is Opal who brings the citizens back together and opens up a closed community by throwing a party for the people in the town.
