I saw this in the movie theater and I just wasn't all that impressed. I thought that it would be a typical teenage "She's All That" movie but it wasn't. They tried relating to college students but it just didn't help at all. Julia Stiles does such a great job in everything she's done, but I was disappointed in her, too! Freddie Prinze Jr. just got a little annoying throughout the movie because all he seemed to do was complain and get scared of the relationship turning into something more. Selma Blair could have done so much better than she did! This role did not fit her whatsoever and I think she needs to re-evaluate what kind of actress she wants to be because her character was just a psycho obsessed with sex and pancakes (* I think the whole sex thing is probably because her character is a porno actress*) but still she just needs the right role and not be desperate for any role that is laid at her feet. Hatosy just didn't fit his character at all, he played a dumbass most of the time and didn't care about anything but sex and having the right body. But the only really good character was Freddie Prinze Jr.'s Dad. He was so funny and seemed to care but had that "my career comes first" kind of stamina but he really did care about his son Al and his girlfriend Imogen. The whole shampoo thing was ridiculous but by the end it turned out somewhat okay but the movie itself needed so many touch-ups, I highly suede you not to waste too much of your time on this film!

I thought this movie had so much going for it, and I was right! Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening did awesome as the dysfunctional wife and husband, it was extraordinary! Mena Suvari and Wes Bentley did wonderful. But the only part I had a problem with was Thora Birch, I just didn't like the way she portrayed her character. It didn't fit it at all from what I think the director wanted the part to be played, I just wasn't impressed. The rest of the cast was great! I loved the whole plot and they should definitely be proud of the cinematography and how meaningful this production was, and I think everyone will see the effect it had on the people who view it! 10/10 stars!
When I saw this I thought "I hope this movie can relate to me and not insult me at all!", and I was clearly wrong. This movie related to me a whole lot! Just because I'm white doesn't mean I can't relate to this. I did in more ways then one! I know how it feels to be left out like some of the characters and growing up is a fact of life and I liked the way they show their friendship growing by day. Taye Diggs was wonderful as the groom who was having doubts, I liked his character a lot. I also loved the flashbacks throughout most of the movie, it was interesting and I also loved the way you knew a flashback was about to occur was when the record player would start with a different record each time. I think everyone will relate to this movie~ white, black, asian, or pink! Everyone needs to see this!
