Mystique has a reputation for slow and tame softcore vids, but 'Mystical Journeys' is on another level all together. Boasts over two hours of content, but if your primary goal in buying or viewing one of these titles is to be turned on and aroused by pretty ladies getting naked frequently ... get ready for the pain train.

In a contest to crowd their latest model winner, 60 mins goes to interviews with all the ladies involved (Rebecca DiPietro, Jessica Difeo, Kay Sivilay, Victoria Anisova, Erin Nicole and Elizabeth Kelly). Sure BTS, photoshoot footage is thrown in, but it's hardly great seeing as how you aren't seeing them naked a ton. There's more wall to wall nudity in the optional slideshows.

For the main presentation it's a lot more talk, glimpses into their photoshoots being shot and lastly a few excursions with the models. "Banana Boat", "Iguana Farm", "Dolphins", "Giving Back" on route to the "Finals" where the winner is crowned. This last portion takes on a reality tv vibe, but still remains boring. This artsy "tasteful" package is far from titillating.

Having viewed a few Mystique releases previous to this, I naturally went into 'Mystical Journeys' with a certain mindset. Somehow they found a way to undercut my lowered expectations. This is a company or one man's vacation overseas with pretty models and you the consumer is asked to pick up the bill getting little in return. It's high rating perplexes me. Don't see how this could satisfy anyone.

Once you get past the novel western concept a video like this is made or broken on it's nude female visuals. As another reviewer already stated 'Prairie Girls' is terminally slow and extremely tame for the majority of it's runtime. I was initially interested because of the unique motif. Had modest hopes due to a decent montage intro and Chasey Lain strolling into a tiny backwater town on horseback boobs bouncing naked in the saddle, but it was all downhill from there.

It's that intro (2.5 mins) before Chasey riding then a long drawn out game of strip poker from the rest of the ladies featured here outside. Eventually all topless, but it takes forever and only a brief shot of Chasey dismounting, tying up her horse shows off her butt in a thong and chaps (9 mins). Showdown between Chasey dressed in black smoking a cigar and one of the other ladies decked out in white leads to this long stare down that jumps between them and back to the poker. Those ladies get down to panties and then those go with a lively rock track. One spicy kitty shot in the mix (9 mins).

We cut between two ladies (one in a windowsill, one street level slowly getting naked) and more of the same showdown from earlier. You get one rubbing her boobs, butt on a block of ice then Chasey and her pal finally get fully naked, but there isn't any real focus downstairs. As you probably guessed it remains super slow (10 mins). A blonde emerges from a house with no bottoms on and slowly gets down to nothing. Eats a banana, feels herself. Cuts to a campfire at night where two slowly undress each other. We go back and forth between these two scenes, but nothing hot to make worth describing (18 mins). For a finale it's back to the Chasey stare down (3 mins).

'Prairie Girls' might get a curiosity view from you like it did for me, but there are no high points. It is another example of a low level softcore title from a small player in the 90's home video market. The camera work and production values aren't bad, but the visuals don't cut it. It's way too slow. Way too much of a tease.

Years ago the word was 'Last Man Standing' was Jeff Wincott's best effort from PM Entertainment. So now that I've seen it, I understand why. First what the company did very well is on full display here. I'm talking good stunt work, multiple fireball explosions and decent car chases. The only downside? Story is an absolute test pattern. Two parts cliche and one part very predictable.

LA Detectives Kurt Bellmore (Wincott) and veteran partner 'Doc' Kane (Jonathan Banks) called to a hotel stumble onto criminal Snake Underwood (Jonathan Fuller) completing his latest deal. When he makes bail easily and some of the evidence disappears, Snake goes onto commit more bank robberies with his crew as Doc gets killed and the picture of dirty cops being involved starts to emerge. As Kurt gets suspended and his bank executive wife Anabella (Jillian McWhirter) gets personally involved.

The faces in the cast certainly earns it some points. Wincott gets to juggle guns and fisticuffs while Fuller goes full ham with the villain. Michael Greene (Eve of Destruction, To Live and Die in LA) plays a police captain while Robert LaSardo and ex-Playboy Playmate Ava Fabian play central heavies. It sucks Banks doesn't have a bigger part or more to do, but he delivers nicely given his small role. McWhirter getting in on the action - firing off guns, taking out baddies, saving her husband - is a nice change of pace from the stock female role (in distress / needing rescue) usually found in these pics.

It's hard to hate on 'Last Man Standing' as a b-movie fan or action junkie because what it does so well partially offset the weak storyline. There's even some gratuitous female nudity here via a trip to a strip club. Too bad the dialog and musical score in addition to the plot are such howlers. If you like 90's dtv cheese, PM or enjoy Jeff Wincott it's still worth a view though.
