Barbara Harris leads the cast as a phony psychic who is asked to use her "power" to find a man that apparently is dead. If she succeeds in her task she will be payed $10,000. She hauls her twisted actor/cab driver into the deal and asks him to find information on the supposedly dead man. They are led through ups and downs on their mission to find the man. Finally finding out that the man faked his death, changed his name and now is living as a jewel salesman/jewel thief. The climax is typical Hitchcock, awesome ending. And great performances by all performers. I highly recommend this movie to anyone that is in the mood for an action - mystery - comedy.
Well, it's a delightful plot, delightful score, and very cute, good for children of all ages... But...Helen Reddy could use a few lessons in acting. She over acted. She can sing...not act. Mickey Rooney, he was a redeeming part of the movie. Red Buttons...i can't stand him!...he is good in some parts he plays...but he was...eeergh!...Jim Backus...i wanted to strangle him!!...Shelly Winters...ruined her movie career...and Sean Marshal (little pete...) 1. barked his way through the songs...and no wonder we never heard of him again in any other movie...he couldn't act. It was family fun with no talent. Of course it was made when disney was at bankrupcy, but still a family classic. I would recommend seeing "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" though.
Matt Damon delivers a standout performance...that is oscar worthy. He plays Tom Ripley, a unknown piano player. When a millionaire sends him to Italy to bring back his son, he discovers a friendship with him. Jude Law plays the son. An excellent performance given. Law also lives with his girlfriend Marge...Damon discovers a passion between him and Dickie (Law)...and if I tell you anymore I'll give it away...just see the movie...you'll love it!
