Out of Her Comfort Zone

These three Girlsway segments compiled on DVD offer highly romantic situations, without the usual silliness that detracts from thes lesbian couplings.

James Avalon directs the title scene with smooth authority, replacing the usually frivolous or even silly mood of this series with sentimental romance.

Aiden Ashley ably projects a shy, uncertain demeanor as she shows up for a swim class. Whitney Wright bucks up her confidence and even lends Ashley a sexy red bikini to wear, and a tasteful seduction results in a hot outdoor sex scene by the duo.

Both actresses project a naturalism to their sex together, avoiding the fake passion and playing to the camera that mars this type of content. It's a refreshing change of pace.

"Like Two Shifts in the Night" has a very fine premise: the lesbian couple Queenie Sateen and Codi Vore are just two weeks into their new job schedule and it's wearing them down: Queenie now has to work the night shift as a Security Guard, and by the time Codi gets home from her utterly boring job it's already time for her partner to get ready to leave for work herself. They don't get to sleep together anymore, an intolerable situation.

The actresses handle the setup with aplomb, improvising their dialogue so well that it seems real and not a contrived "porno" situation. Also significant here is that Queenie is glamorous, despite her job and the "noisy" black heavy coat inscribed "SECURITY" she has to wear that makes crinkly sounds whenever she moves in it (used cleverly for comic relief when Codi insists that she wear it while they're having sex).

In the setup scene, a tired-out Codi dressed in khaki pants (not at all sexy in the current Steve Karnacki TV nerd mode) and a bowling style-top with name tag affixed looks like any regular civilian you'd see at a checkout post while shopping, not at all suggesting a porn star. The duo's lovemaking is expert of course, but they seem like a real couple -a boost to the vignette's eroticism.

Serene Siren and Freya Parker portray unlikely hard hats in "When Sparks Fly", working as repair persons for the power company in this mild romantic scene from Girlsway.

Less frivolous than other content directed by Stella Smut (whose specialties include "Oopsie!" and "Transfixed" vignettes, the story has Freya Parker as a young college student working as an intern, who encounters trouble on her first day on the job. Serene helps her with ease and soon is the subject of hero worship by her young charge.

The two soon bond, at it doesn't take long before their enjoying Sapphic sex together, shot in the distinctive modern home location for porn, with its remarkable looking "floating" wooden staircase design.

Only drawback to the scene is casting of Serene, far too glamorous even wearing a hard hat, and so athletic in her sexual performance.
