His Story of Itihaas

Usually, when there is a raw truth - the movie is not suitable to be watched with kids/family. One of the rare movie in bollywood which is based on truth - which can-be/should-be/must-be - watched with kids. A lot of things in the movie are directly connected with our daily routine/experiences - starting from "our past" history book(which is taught in CBSE) TO our borrowed fake identity TO poison in the thoughts of officers from reserved category .. and the list goes with several complex dimensions it has tried to cover, which mainstream cinema is too afraid to get anywhere close to. The best part - movie has not tried to manufacture a solution at the end- the problem is far too aged& complex to be solved by a movie. Its intent is to suitably stimulate us to review existing scheme of things - and it does that so elegantly that I would give it 10/10. Go, watch in multiplex with your family than seeing a pirated version elsewhere.

Recently watched this movie and it has successfully changed my idea of looking at what I actually learned at school and so many things which were altered. I hope school boards from all over the country take notes on the issues raised and make the changes so the real unaltered history comes to light.

Especially the characters shown in the movie, I hope such people who wish to divide us with propagandas should be made to answer for their true intentions and if not cite their sources. I hope even the teachers take a step and realise to these curriculum changes and step up to teach the real history of India.

I know where this story comes from, it comes from a guy named Neeraj Atri who, a physics teacher (like me), turned into a historian delving into history that is not taught in schools but is hidden under archives of systemic bankertuptsy of values and morals.

The history of India or Bharat that was never told among Balbans, Victorias, Marxs, Nehrus and Gandhis. The true history of Sambajis, Laxmibais, Savarkars, Pathas etc who sacrificed their lives and more for this land they called their mother because they if could do more, they would have done it.

The history with real proof and not a mere footnote that it was a manifestation of a leftist's dream of how Bharat should be and not how it really was.

The real history not from the eyes of the invader but those who lived on to protect what was their and was handed over to them from their ancestors, from Ram, Krishna etc. A true history to be proud of.

From a nationalist standpoint, this film is a much-needed awakening. For decades, Indian history textbooks have portrayed colonial invaders in a sympathetic light while ignoring or downplaying the contributions of indigenous heroes. This film highlights how deeply rooted ideological biases have shaped the minds of generations, and it dares to ask: Whose history are we really teaching?

The protagonist's journey-from a concerned parent to a fearless truth-seeker-is portrayed with emotional depth and quiet strength by actor Subodh Bhave. His character reflects the everyday Indian who, though not politically powerful, holds immense moral conviction. He does not raise slogans or engage in violence; instead, he uses the RTI Act, research, and public discourse as his tools. This reflects the ideal nationalist approach: fighting for the country not just with passion, but with reason and responsibility.

The film carefully exposes how many history books ignore the valor of figures like Maharana Pratap, Rani Durgavati, or Subhas Chandra Bose, while giving undue space to glorified accounts of foreign rulers. These omissions are not accidental-they reflect decades of narrative control. His Story of Itihaas doesn't merely point fingers; it encourages viewers to think, question, and reclaim ownership of India's civilizational identity.

Director Manpreet Singh Dhami spent four years researching this film, and it shows. The courtroom scenes, archival investigations, and public debates feel authentic and deeply relevant in today's India. The film's atmosphere is grounded in realism, without resorting to melodrama or propaganda. This adds credibility to its message and allows the audience to form their own conclusions.

Cinematically, the film is modest but impactful. It's not about big-budget effects or star-studded glamor-it's about truth, courage, and the power of one man's resolve. The supporting cast-including Akansha Pandey and Yogendra Tikku-enhance the film's emotional core and help ground the protagonist's mission in everyday Indian realities.

In conclusion, His Story of Itihaas is a powerful reminder that history is not just about the past-it shapes our identity, our values, and our future. For every nationalist who believes that India's glorious past deserves to be told truthfully, this film is a mirror, a warning, and a call to action.

It's our responsibility to support such movies. Needs lot of courage to present the truth. 💯 Movie shows what was hidden from the history books of school. The education system where the foundation is built for any child is not to be blindly trusted. There can be mistakes or there can be things added to the curriculum on purpose by the people who are in power or those who have the authority.

This movie should also be released in the other regional languages. Sadly there are way too less shows for the movie as of today. But things can change on public demand. Need more publicity and promotion for the movie.
