A beautiful crowd pleaser tragedy
Direct JP Habac is really one of the best RomCom directors of this generation. " Ex Ex Lovers" delivers a great RomCom movie that even non-fans of Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin love team can enjoy. It's a movie with a mixture of escapism, nostalgia and realistic ending. Bravo!!!!
Joy (Jolina Magdangal) travels to Valletta, Malta to reunite with her ex-husband, Ced ( Marvin Agustin) just to ask her ex-husband to walk her daughter to the aisle on her wedding day. Along the way, things get complicated as they face their unresolved past.
The trailer gives away the surprise actors. It's nice to see Judy Ann Santos, Mylen Dizon , G Tongi and Dominic Ochoa in this film as it adds nostalgia even if their roles are cameos. I have no problem with the whole movie. The direction and cinematography are great. The acting, I think they all stand up.
Overall, "Ex Ex Lovers" is one of the best Filipino RomCom of 2025! It's a beautiful crowd-pleaser tragedy.
