As a New Orleans native I implore you and the writers to walk down any street in New Orleans and talk to a LOCAL. We DO NOT eat shrimp and grits for breakfast and praline bacon isn't in our fridge. We have worked very hard to come back from Katrina and it PAINS ME that this series (which I love and watch regularly) is making us look like uneducated loud mouth pigs. Please - come uptown and take a census of LOCALS, have a LOCAL help you with the dialect!! We DO NOT talk like that unless your're from Mississippi. PLEASE! I LOVE my city and would LOVE for the series to continue and for us New Orleanians to sound like the intelligent up and coming tech community that we are! Thank you!

I liked this series so much at first. I'm a huge NCIS fan. The cast of this show has always been very good. My problem now is with the storylines. The show no longer deals with dead sailors or marines. It seems to be more about international terrorism and various personal problems of cast members. A big part of the time I have no idea what's supposed to be going on. I'm afraid this show jumped the shark a good while ago. It's beginning to remind me of a want to be "Burn Notice." I'm so disappointed.
Different city, cast and plot lines. Quit comparing apples and oranges. What I like about this and the other franchises is that it also focuses on the individual team members - otherwise, it would be the same thing every week.
I love all the NCIS shows,
but the new girl on NCIS New Orleans I can do without,
don't like her at all. It's really hard to watch now,
she is taking over the show to cocky. If she stays on the show I don't think I will continue to watch.. .sorry.
Need to bring in someone that is not a know-it-all, let Pride still be in charge I really like the other cast members. Need to continue without bringing in somebody that don't fit and try to change everything. Bring back the other girl she fit in perfect with the cast, not like this girl they brought in.

I love the NCIS shows. Entertaining characters, diverse and textured scenery. I like that the writers sometimes come up with a plot that I haven't seen or read in any variation before.
THAT BEING SAID,I must pose the question: Is it possible to write a good TV show without inserting an agenda? For instance, Persons of Interest was taken off the air after soon after a self involved individual took the focus off the "team" and their work and diverted a portion of the attention to a lesbian relationship. It sapped the strength of the program. I see the same thing happening here.
Making the characters deeper is a great idea but, really, in real life do you realize how few people per capita are homosexual? So if there are so few that interact with hetero's in real life, how does it benefit the program to force on the average viewer something that they cannot really grasp or identify with?
Thanks for your attention. This is wisdom that could make you money. Hope you hear me.

I don't even watch the original anymore since Ziva left. I Absolutely love Scott Backula. One of my favorite actors: see Quantum Leap. Love this show and all the characters. Hate that Shalita Grant left. But still my favorite.
This show seems like it has no location expert people to advise on the correct accent, food, etc.
The streets of the FQ either have a jazz marching band or they are eerily devoid of people and cars.
We don't eat beignets, shrimp or red beans every day.
We do say "ya'll " but we say it quick like wall. Hey, ya'll come here. That's because: > We here in New Orleans and surrounding area DO NOT have a southern accent.
> Can only compare it to a New York type accent, with some Cajun mixed in. If you go 60 miles in any direction, you start to hear the southern drawl.
( if you heard a real heavy accent from down the bayou, you would not understand a word of it).

To put this review in perspective, you should know I'm Dutch (Netherlands, Europe). English is not my native language. When I read the summary of an episode, it seems okay, maybe even interesting, but when I'm watching it, the NA accent distracts me in an uncomfortable way. To me it doesn't sound like a general "southern" accent, it feels exaggerated, like a foreigner who purposely in an unpleasant manner would characterize how Americans speak.
Especially when Lucas Black speaks, I'm so obsessed with how his mouth moves to perform those noises, that the story line disappears to the background. If there would be subtitles I'd turn off the sound.
Is this done to please the locals? Obviously not. I read the review of "household137" (s)he writes : Quote: "... and it PAINS ME that this series (which I love and watch regularly) is making us look like uneducated loud mouth pigs. isn't Harry Connick Jr. from NA? He doesn't seem to have much of an accent. I really like to hear different accents; I find them interesting and I respect everyone, but IMHO in this case it's too much and it undermines the show.

Donald P. Bellisario does it again. Beautifully done. NCIS New Orleans makes me want to watch and see what happens next. Nice introduction and expansion of new characters as well as the expansion of existing known characters. As always doesn't disappoint with the history of characters and their development within the NCIS. I think this show displays only the best in screen writing. NCIS New Orleans really expands and broadens character area and ext. screenwriter's aspect. NCIS New Orleans is so worth any high budget external location filming endeavor. Brings us back int. to what we expect and know out of existing locations and characters. NCIS New Orleans also is developing a pretty awesome int. view aspect of a NCIS New Orleans office. While I have no idea of future intent of the producers; I'm hopeful the producers expand this show to an NCIS New Orleans full season. I want to see more.

This show like many of other shows/movies. Being that I am a Louisiana native, the fake accents are always horrible. If the actors are going to attempt to sound like Louisiana natives, invest more time in trying to develop the accent. We love and embody our culture, so try harder to do the same.
This show was so good now the writing is weak and trying overly hard to be politically correct.
The show has gotten lazy and self righteous.

I grew up in New Orleans and I'm an avid NCIS fan, so I was interested to see how they would handle the Crescent City episodes. Overall, I think it did really well. 8 points out of 10.
A few things: 1. In episode 1, there were a few mistakes that those people who are locals could easily notice. A little bit more research would've been better, but the plot/characters/etc. was good.
2. Bakula's ongoing "my brother, my brother" is too much. People in NOLA don't do that, if anything they say "cher" as an affectionate term for friend, so it seemed overdone on the show.
3. A little bit hard to believe in part 2, that a woman would leave a bar to walk in a dark alley alone with someone she had just met. No local would ever do that.
4. I liked part 2 much more than part 1, because they focused more on places the locals go to and not just the "tourist top 10 spots" like in episode 1. I also loved how they talked about the city and it gets into your DNA. Great and well scripted.
5. Love the actors and think it could be a great series going forward :)

Take a lousy plot and try and make up for it by making your main character a guy that loves to cook creole food and plays in a jazz band. Drop lots of street and neighborhood names and generally WAY too much "culture" and what do you get? NCIS New Orleans. Oh, and make sure you include street violence and a corrupt politician. The crooked politician and trumpeter are WAY overplayed. I'm from NOLA and I hoped this would at least be close to as good as the original NCIS. Instead it tries to play off the fame of the original and America's fascination with our unique culture to make poor writing sell. But then trying to use exaggerated cultures of various cities to sell lousy writing is an old game.

I loved the show from the start but as the seasons rolled on it became the Dwayne Pride show. Filled with his unruly behavior, seeing ghosts, lying to his daughter and subordinates, and with an ego bigger than the city.
I guess since he's got a hand in production and directing he has license to ruin the integrity of the Brand.

I like it. I hope it stays. I have nothing bad to say about Gregorio. It will be interesting to see Dwayne as SAC.

Today is April 3rd and tonight is Shalita Grants last show on NCIS. She took over after Zoe McLellan left the show after season 2! Can ANYONE get a 5 year contract on this show? Just when you get used to a character, they leave! Really tired of it. Don't get me wrong...this is one of my favorite shows, but come ON! I really wanted Lasalle and Percy to get together. They had chemistry. I wonder who is going to take her place on the show and I'm setting the clock when she or he becomes an agent. I give them two years...tops! I just hope that the show makes them a good deal not to quit for at least 5 years. It's just not good for a show if they have people constantly leaving. I looked Google as soon as I watched the last part of tonight's episode. It stated it was a "Mutual agreement" Oh horse crap. I looked up McLellan's reason and it said "Creative differences" That means She wanted more money and they said no. Tired of it, folks. TIRED of it.

The series originally started as a great crime show with a cast that seemed to gel well and have good chemistry. It seems like a lot of the writers changes came through Hananas character she comes off as annoying and seems to force everything in the story line. Season 6&7 we're unbelievably unbearable everything was turned in to SJW talking points this never made sense to me why the heck would you put that into a crime shows story line goes directly against their viewer base. Also near the end to seemed like replacements were just toss in's the chemistry had a big drop off it seemed like more like people reading their lines not even trying to convey emotion.

Like the show and I like this NCIS the most out of all of them. Yet, I'm really missing the character played by Lucas Black. He is charismatic on screen. A joy to watch. Scott Bakula can't carry this show with CCH. CCH is stronger and much more likable scene stealer.
I feel that the actors make this spin-off the show that it is. Scott Bakula is a great leader for the NCIS: New Orleans crew and Lucas Black makes the show even better knowing he is actually from Alabama. Lucas Black plays a great part and stay's to his roots of the south. A lot of people complain about this spin-off but I feel it is just as good as the original NCIS. People from New Orleans love there town and the actors of this show make it seem like they love it as well which makes the show authentic in my opinion. It's a great watch for anyone that loves New Orleans and loves NCIS.

Series is OK. Will continue to watch but not in the same league as the original NCIS. Weak links include Lucas Black's accent, truly too much affect which results in negative distractions. Please remove the high heels from the female cast during the chase scenes!!! Those heels truly take away from the validity of what the screen writers are trying to get across. Last but certainly not least the opening music is too much!! Been to New Orleans several times and the people there would cringe thinking this music is representative of their wonderful musical reputation. Improving the chemistry and camaraderie of the cast would be truly encouraged.
Watched this program faithfully until new season started. Like watching the news every night about defunding police and BLM. Enough already. No longer entertaining-just in your face news crap.
