I would of been all for some versatility, but they went way too far out there. I kind of watch this show in the back ground mainly just to see some beautiful scenery, so to be nice I'll just say Hawaii is still beautiful can't really say that about anything else though. Not for me at all and I'm pretty sure I won't be the only one that feels this way.

I know it might not be the best to other people, but I like it is something these other reality shows aren't doing. I love drama and cat fights so if you love to entertained I would watch it. Couples being broken up and people getting jealous it's so interesting.
I watched the first two episodes of season 7 and found the contestants to be annoying, self-centered, overly dramatic, superficial, and appearance-obsessed. And they all seemed to think it's okay to have those traits, though they acknowledge they are bad at dating and always choose the wrong people.
The twenty-two self-professed losers come on the show hoping to split a million dollars and, they hope, to learn how to make better choices in partners. A "panel of experts" has supposedly picked eleven "perfect" couples to make us this crew, and the daters have to discover the correct pairings to win the big bucks.
Between all the preening, posing, flirting, and fighting, there are tasks designed either to help them discover their perfect matches or to obfuscate the correct combination of pairings. It's never clear.
I admit I watched the previous season's first and last episodes to get a better perspective on the overall process. I wanted to know if they really learned anything? Was there enlightenment? Were there long-term match-ups? Did they even come close to winning the money?
This exercise helped me see that little changed in the contestants. In the end, there might have been a couple of lessons learned, but their behaviors seemed largely unchanged. And, as suspected, winning the money is a difficult challenge, though not impossible.
If you enjoy watching attractive people with juvenile attitudes and the conviction that being overly dramatic is the best way to be, then this show might be for you. Are some young viewers of MTV seeing these contestants as role models? No doubt, and that's why it deserves a low grade.

Honestly idk why people are rating this so low based on how superficial and terrible most of the contestants are. THAT'S THE POINT! The drama of these unhinged 20 somethings make this time of media entertaining. If you don't wanna watch and judge people make absolute fools of themselves then reality tv isn't for you.

So, so bad. Bunch of dumb American youth representing the country in the worst possible way. You'd be more productive watching your yard grow.

I like connecting with people on another level. I like this show because people are connecting on another level. Maybe someday I will be able to connect on another level. Maybe.

Probably some of the worst narcissists human kind has to offer. Sheer decadence right here served raw. If you want to fuel your disdain for these vile people then keep watching.

How many times can a person use the word locked in one hour? If your name is Ryan Devlin, probably 500 times. And why do you need to count the number of beams of light on your fingers? Just stop already...
Besides that, this show is just annoying. Throw a couple of dumbasses together in a house and see if they like each other. Mix that with some petty drama and that's basically the whole show. Complete waste of time.

I've seen a lot of garbage shows but this one takes the cake. I couldn't make it past the first 3 minutes. It was that bad. See for yourself or save the few seconds of your life you won't get back

Are You the One is a trashy but weirdly interesting reality dating show. 10 male and 10 female eligible singles are brought to a resort in Hawaii where they live together and attempt to determine, by any means, who is their "perfect match" The matches are preselected by means of a matchmaking process. In each episode the contestants engage in Survivor-style challenges to determine who go on "dates". The other contenstants can then send one of the couples into the "truth booth" to see if they are a perfect match and if they are they get to vacation in the "honeymoon suite". At the end of each episode, the contestants each select a potential match and if the group guesses all 10 correctly, they win a million dollar prize. Usually over a process of elimination (and sometimes soap-opera style romances) the contestants are able to narrow down their perfect matches, but must guess all 10 by the 10th episode to win the prize.
This show has several fatal flaws, the most obvious of which is whether it is possible to have accurate matchmaking at all. Often contestants go into the truth booth thinking they have found their match only to discover that their read was false; at that point they are forced to abandon their love interest in order to continue playing the game. The eventual matches are sometimes rather dubious, and usually by the later episodes the contestants are forced to engage in a complex process of elimination to figure out the matches.
That said, the main entertainment, and it can be entertaining, is watching people fumble around trying to find their match, stumbling from one superficial relationship to another. If they end up having sex with the wrong person, or get caught up in a love triangle, the relations inside the resort can get pretty heated. You can also keep yourself interested by keeping track of the match making, attempting to make your own guesses as to who should be with whom. All in all this is completely mindless television, probably best described a good exemplar of the decay of our modern culture.

How do you know that your match is your match? Because the producer said so. Are they expert? Of course they use all methods so they said. Can we validate that? Of course not. Strangely, on season 3, the penalty of 250K is introduced and of course it happened that season. Once the premise is questionable, then the show has no credibility at all. Would be nice to show the beginning process, the psychologist, questionnaires, AND the matches token are sealed to be opened at the end of the show, given to every couple as a souvenir. Anyway,
Definitely needs way more diversity!!! All the girls look the same! Even the guys look the same! Season 7 was literally and basically just all skinny, white, and light skins! Being on people who look different.

Please Please Please DO NOT watch this show. This types of show ruins our country and the new generation. There is nothing you can learn from this show, only thing you can learn is how to hoe around. If you have kids, please help them and do not allow them to see this show.I feel bad for those one who is into this meaningless show. As you know only MTV plays show like this. If I was you, I was discontinue watching MTV. This Types of show is very disturbing to the society and viewers should stop watching it.I have never heard anything good from the viewers and I do not know why this show has good rating in IMDb.com, usually every review is accurate but this one is lacking accuracy.
This show is entertaining but it is a mess, people go on the show looking for love but than they just have sex with random people. The girls makes themselves look cheap, plus there are so called experts that decides which couple are a perfect match. Like I said it is entertaining but it makes no sense at all.

An image of our society that triggers immense shame is what this series presents. A stupid, terrible concept that clearly only relies on physicality. A show that shouldn't exist. A show as a symbol of the stupid behavior and irrational life concepts of these times of social media and constant, in principle pathological self-portrayal.

When are you going to learn that men who cry for nothing aren't attractive?
Men aren't women so crying and being more emotive than the women it's laughable.

Worst concept ever, because... who cares what happens, all the audience cares about is T & A !!! They really should have included a heavy dose of religion in an early episode to enable the Bible-thumpers to spend their money!
