No pun intended - remember this is a first time directors effort and low budget, so try to not compare this with a big budget production. Also you really have to love horror movies to actually enjoy this. What made this especially funny by the way: an ad for a youtube paranormal show that ran at Frightfest (the Festival this was shown at).
Let's just say if you thought the movie is far fetched ... well the ad (and I assume the show itself) would prove you wrong.
And while this is not a movie that will get any Oscar noms (not aiming for any of that anyway) - when I watched this and one of the main (male) characters being so insufferable mean to his girlfriend ... I almost became furious ... yet thinking about it in hindsight, it was just him actually acting in the spirit of Jack the Ripper! And by the way as the director said after the movie was shown, no mention of any victims in the movie - out of respect. Good choice and shows how sensible they were in the making of.
You may recognize some faces from other horror movies (Winnie the Pooh comes to mind) - if you liked them there - well you know what to expect. Bring on the next one - as the director said: be active try to go and make stuff that makes you happy. And making this made them happy - you can tell if this will be your cup of tea - stop watching if it is not.
