"Then Chennai"- A promising first film from new director Ranga. The premise of the story is nuanced and original. The combination of thriller and soft emotions were handled expertly. The film's strengths are its crisp narration and impressive cinematography.

Heroine was fresh and fit in naturally to the role. The chemistry between the lead pair was good.

The characters with negative shades were etched out well, especially the abusive character of SK.

Some twists were predictable. Few scenes could have been more engaging/ realistic.

Kudos for some honest storytelling, sans masala elements- a film that can be watched with family.

Film was good, my opinion is the hero action cameo scenes in the last part, is also from start of the film it will be too good to this film.

Villain is great acting. All other done their part very well.

Hero action in the film like more introvert. Atleast the reason for his sadness can be revealed before first half.

Hence it gives some grip

I like hero' second half cameo action. But the waiting time is high as it comes only in the end of the movie.

Overall it nice movie which has not given any headache like other masala movies coming nowadays.

It's was a decent try for the first time, expecting the next film have some generous comedy.

Then Chennai centering its story on the backdrop of Chennai. Then Chennai is a good movie with exciting action and good acting performace by director and actor Ranga and Nithin Mehta. Cinematography and Choice of colour tone is one of the major strength to narrate the story visually. Even though editor maintains the pace intact, few sequences could have been trimmed. Background score supports the narrative, especially during the intense action sequences, However, Certain parts of the screenplay feel predictable and the movie feels a bit long, I recommend to family audience, they will love the mix of drama and action.

Well suited cast selection and they did their justice to the assigned roles. Gripping storyline, Slow burning crime thriller with family emotions and story spans across covid lockdowns. Background music elevates the movie sequences well. Trio responsibilities, ie movie direction, production and main lead role are executed by the same person Ranga. Quality of making and colour grading tones the movie is extraordinary. I feel Still somemore improvements required in editing the sequence in the last 30 minutes of the first one hour portion. Overall nice package and I felt worth spending two hours to watch.

As movie begins, director's many nots remains unopened. Post interval all nots connected well and story concluded well. Screenplay is slow and that needs to be fastened. Expected more action sequences from hero but it was missing. No glamor and decent movie. If comedy injected it would be artificial and director avoided that much appreciated. A movie with most of the characters are new come out well. This movie shows inspite of covid inspite of many people couldn't run their daily life during lockdown few things went unstoppable is alcohol, Black money and IPL. Director showed the same. It's a wake up call to all. Family First is the msg I got from movie... Keep going Ranga and team... Worth watching once in cinemas...
