My Mother's Future Husband

This is listed as unrated on Roku and it's TV 14 on this site. There is nothing that would need more than a G rating in it except the talk of parents and spouses who have passed on and There is talk of relationships and a little bit of kissing. It's a very cute movie and the acting was fine. Typical hallmark type movie, but maybe a little lower budget. It has some talk about the universe versus heaven, and the difference of the two but the belief in both. The parts about her song she's trying to write is a little lacking in quality, but it's understandably, trying to make a point of the struggles she was still feeling about missing her dad.

Headly Henderson (Matreya Fedor) and her mother René Henderson (Lea Thompson) spend all their time together. Hot guy Bodie Miller is back in town and notices Headly. She feels newly romantic and decides to find a guy for her widower mother. She sets her mom up with men without telling her.

I am a Lea Thompson fan, but that is not a good enough reason to watch this. The writing is pretty lame. The lead girl is weak. It's not a compelling character. Lea Thompson does her usual good work. It's not her fault. The movie would work better with less of the daughter's high school melodrama and more with the mom. The premise is a little weird and I don't know that it works.

Lea T - this movie was beneath you. The acting from everyone was terrible and the soundtrack super whiny.
