फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
I never leave a movie incomplete and this time was the most farthest I reached and controlled myself. 2 hours of torture about how old & lonely yet pretentious men fool around with skeletons in their common cupboard.
The episodic screenplay was something new from the person who gave us a re-film of three hit movies, 22 Female Kottayam. And it worked well as far as the screenplay is concerned. But, coupled with writing that is so dull in style & setting, the on-screen sequences came out like they lacked commitment. Even the five lead actors put up a poor show; indeed the newcomers have done a terrific job. Lal had a cameo and I loved him, maybe because he's a part of that only scene in the film which is worth.
Reminiscing the good old days and reliving has been showcased quite a lot of times in cinema, latest with 2 Harihar Nagar. Sampling the same technique and complementing it with the new-age, hotshot "weed" (drug) or "Idukki Gold" element as they call it, does nothing but overwhelm the whole point. It depicts something bad in a very bad bad way. Teenagers watching this film are bound to receive a wrong message.
Now I am not accusing the makers of anything, but it is ridiculous to mix movies with elements of nonsense/taboo that are, in streetwise laudable, but rationally improper and calling the whole mixture new-wave or new-age cinema. There is not a single point of newness in this otherwise goddamn boring film.
Music by Bijibal is good, but not happening as was the case in 22FK. Cinematography sucked, so did the editing. Unbelievable references from Dr. Dre's Beats audio headphones to the mockery of whole meaning of friendship. It was certain that the writers were eagerly trying to add humor, adult humor, slapstick into every node, but constantly failing. The ending is so shot to give depth to the whole foolishness behind, but if you look closer, you'll find out the real definition of ridiculousness and gimmickry.
BOTTOM LINE: A very bad film. Not recommended to any age group. If I were to change the title, I'd name it "How To Live Without Guilt After Committing A Crime!"
Can be watched with a typical Indian family? NO
Drugs/Alcohol/Smoking: Very Strong | Sex/Foreplay/Porn: No | Vulgarity/Nudity: Mediocre | Violence/Gore: Strong

Movie is all about a decades-after reunion of 5 school friends.
Frequent bouts of nostalgic punches fuel the entire movie.
There is a subtle underlying theme of sadness and loss in their adult lives.
Good acting (esp maniyan pilla Raju ),Music & cinematography are the major pros.
Aashiq Abu again copies Tarantino's style including separate chapters titled in yellow fonts but kudos for making a movie based on a shortstory and with yesteryear actors.
This movie released in 2013 has already become a cult classic of mollywood. A must watch movie about friendship, and coming of age comedy. Although sloppy at some point the movie is worth seeing multiple times. It tells the story of 4 friends revisiting their old school Nd memories left behind. As the story devoleps we will embark on a journey with them towards their past memories. With great cinematography and music to back up and great performance by cast this movie is a must see for all languages.
After watching this, I regret having it delayed so much. Ashiq Abu is a promising director and he has proven himself in his later movies. This I think is a turning point for him towards that.
This movie is magical in its own way. Basically the cinematography is excellent and since Idukki is a place with stunning terrain and green, it's obvious.
The chemistry between the characters is maintained perfectly through the two periods and through the entire movie. There are times I felt that a certain scene could have made better to give the viewer a satisfying moment but that would be a totally different movie.
Simply loved this just because of the visuals.
I think this is really underrated and that could be because of the viewers expecting something different. Don't keep them high. Just enjoy it simply and stay with the flow.

I've read some people writing here it's a classic or underrated...As a cinema lover i would honestly say it's a watchable flick n forgettable as time passes by...Slow film that some may not adjust to...A good comeback for Babu Anthony, we wld definitely want to see him doing character roles...For those people who can relate to the film, it's definitely a road to memory lane and for them it's a classic...but the real problem i find in this film is that it loses its direction half way thru n what could have been a memorable coming of age film about life and friendship, turns out to be a watchable film with some moments that most people will forget as time passes by...
